Good product but not quite as advertised - UPDATED
Looks like a good cooler ant the install was very straight forward. Only 4 stars because the hose fitting were not brass as advertised and the 4 through style mounting rods were garbage.. 2 of the 4 on my kit broke off during install. Luckily I was able to secure in other ways. Time will tell how the performance of the cooler is. I will update after I tow my toy hauler. I am hoping for the advertised 50 degrees of cooling. (Update: dropping to 3 stars because I did not even see half of the advertised cooling capacity. read update 2 below for details)UPDATE #1:I spoke with Derale and they informed me that they have recently updated their product lines and the fittings are all black aluminum now, this is reflected somewhat on their website. Next update will come once I test the performance.UPDATE #2:I towed my trailer fully loaded up into the mountains this past weekend. Before installing the cooler, I would regularly see oil temps up to 275º when towing a long and steep pass. I installed the cooler in the optimum position on my truck, in front of all other radiators and coolers at the front and middle of the airflow into the grille. Derale advertises up to 50º of cooling with this cooler. However, the MOST I have seen in real world application on my truck is 20º. And most of the time I am seeing temps that are only 15º cooler than what I was seeing before installing the cooler. I'm pretty disappointed with the performance. I had really high hopes but the cooler itself needs to be double the size.

Had issues with fittings leaking
Kept having issues with leaks despite using pipe dope. Seemed like the fittings weren't machined quite right.Update april 2 2016, I can't get this thing to stop leaking. The cooler itself looks like it's good quality, but the fittings that go into the cooler rely on orings to seal. There is no proper seat for the orings to sit on the cooler and so the oring gets destroyed over time as the fittings keep twisting since they're not machined tight. I think this has been fixed by using loctite which keeps the fitting from moving and also acts as a thread sealant. The rubber seal on the oil filter adapter completely deformed and so lost its ability to seal. Replaced with something a little better quality. So far so good. Most recent issue is the oil hose has started leaking. When I've tried tightening the clamps it got better for a while, but started leaking again. Did this several times. When I bought this I thought I was buying a good quality cooler, but this thing has been nothing but headaches. Even though I bought their premium level cooler, everything is low quality. I've never had issues with anything like this before, but just in case it was me, I've had two different certified mechanics work on it multiple times (been repaired 6 times now) and still nothing but headaches. I'm going to give this system one last try. I'm buying name brand hose. Getting spring clamps. Disassembling, cleaning and reassembling all the fittings with thread sealant. If I had to do it again, I'd try the modine liquid oil cooler. Never buying derale again.
