Is it really an 11th Gen Fire Tablet
We were sent what was meant to be an 11th generation Fire HD10. The first device said it was a 10th generation HD10, so does the replacement. Are we really being sold an 11th Generation device or not.It even says 11th generation on the box but... see the attached image.Problem now fixed by firmware update released 2nd june. Tablet and box now show Gen 11. 3GB ram is a godsend, no more slow downs after 5 mins of use.

Great value for the price
This review is for the All-new Fire HD 10 tablet | 10.1", 1080p Full HD, 32 GB, Black - with Ads.This product arrived well packaged and on time. The device itself is amazing, for what you pay you get a top quality device. I purchased the one with ads and what that means is on the locked screen you get some ads about amazon prime and coins and few other things. The device screen is amazing and crystal clear. You can get pretty much all the apps on this device that you can get on the android or apple devices. it is fast and has great sound. Personally i love it so does my soon. Saved me a good few hundred pounds as was planning on getting an iPad which is pretty much 3 times the price.Great product by amazon. Also it has built in Alexa which is amazing. We took the tablet away with us on holiday and we had alexa with us everywhere, We could even control our home lights from the hotel.. amazing.Update: On prime day they had this product for £79... absolute steel at that price!!

Some good and some not so good points
I like the larger screen, which was why I bought it, but not the sizing of the font, even though I have it on large. The font is smaller than on my previous Kindle, so not quite so 'age appropriate' for an 80 year old silver surfer. I was expecting a "natural" page turner, but it is still a 'swipe' to turn the pages of a book. I am still finding my way around it as I am not very technical minded. The battery seems fine and it isn't too heavy, although I had already bought a foam stand to save holding it all of the time

THE PAD for all
A first class tablet. This one is the latest generation and I have an earlier generation pad - if I compare them both, they are great machines, but the latest generation with updates, processes etc - this is a superb buy.I am hoping that Amazon will sell the keypad for this so I can really be up to date.Again a superb, capable and well worth the money machine.

Compared to my old Kindle Fire
Very similar to my last Kindle fire which I replaced because the battery died. This one is lighter, which makes it easier to hold but also makes it less stable if you are resting it on something - such as a chair arm.It is slightly smaller, which I didn't think would matter,. But somehow it does.It downloads much faster and has a far superior memory capacity.Th sound, for music and audio - and using my old Sennheiser earphones - seems clearer. The built in sound however is nowhere as good. So bad in fact that they might as well have used the space for something more useful.

It's so easy to use straight from the box
The Fire was well packed with clear instructions on getting started. It works in the same way my phone does so easy to pick up how to make the best use of it. I managed to find my way round the different apps already loaded and found it very simple to add some additional ones that I use all the time on my phone. My husband has poor eyesight but he is thrilled with the clarity of the screen and how easy it is to navigate round his favourite films on UTube.I wish I had bought one sooner as it is easy to use with no set up hassles.

The 'no advert version' has adverts
I opted for the version without adverts, however, I am getting adverts on my home page for a woman's magazine. These should not be here. Anyway, day 1 and I've pressed the 'I am not interested in this (magazine)' button loads today. So, I spent over 1 hour speaking to Amazon customer service yesterday. Finally, they advised these adverts are not adverts but 'recommendations'. This leaves me very frustrated as I paid extra and not want to be subjected to adverts. Maybe a compromise is that these 'recommendations' appear, but surely if you press, 'I am not interested' once, they should not appear again. The customer services were helpful, but they resolve the matter as being closed once the phone call ends, however, I am not satisfied that I keep seeing these adverts.
