Perfect for a wide range of applications including guardrails, banners, and load securing, they offer reliable performance with easy installation using a 13mm nut driver. ## Description Wire cable clamps are used to clamp a cable back on itself creating a loop. A suggested minimum of 3 clamps or clips are clamped on ensuring the end of the cable does not slip out.The clamp consists of a U-bolt, a saddle and 2 nuts. The parts are made of electro-galvanized malleable iron with zinc plating to ensure maximum corrosion and durability. Some examples of applications in which these are used are: safetying pipe, anchoring posts, squaring fence gates, making laundry lines, hanging banners, anchoring gym equipment, and endless other applications . TIP: Use a 13mm socket/nut driver to tighten the nuts. A drill may be used but make sure not to over tighten as the wire may warp. You should never use malleable clamps in critical applications because they can bend, stretch or have other manufacturing defects. Only drop forged clamps should be used for critical applications, such as overhead lifting or suspension.TIP: “NEVER SADDLE A DEAD HORSE”– NEVER PLACE U-BOLT OVER THE LIVE LINE Never apply a clamp with the saddle on the dead side of the cable. Only the U-bolt should be on the dead side of the cable, where crushing will not affect the breaking strength of the hoist line. Review: Heavy duty - Put cable up for grape arbor. We do have other 3/16 inch wire rope clamps available on Amazon. **Q: Seems like a typo of the 5/8" cable as that would be about as big as an adult finger? 1/4" to 5/16" seems logical...** A: I don't get the question. What has the size of a finger got to do with a 1/4-inch wire cable clamp. But you can put a slightly larger cable in a clamp of a smaller nominal size, with a little effort. **Q: Are these u.s.a. made? the company i work for needs forged 1/4” cable clamps usa made.** A: they were a gift ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heavy duty *by L***G on June 14, 2022* Put cable up for grape arbor.
