Audyssey Official ACM1HB Replacement Calibration Microphone for AVRs

Works as it is supposed to - just plugged it into the front panel microphone jack and it auto-started the calibration app. Receiver Onkyo TX-NR686. Whole process takes about 10 minutes (more or less). It's not very loud - just a series of white noises played from speakers (well, the sub might be a bit loud) - I'm saying this so that you know that it can be used even at night. In my case it adjusted a bit the frequencies for the speakers and told me to close the menu. That's it. :-) PS: have not heard that much of a difference - but then again, I don't have the best ears and will try to play later some favorite music to see if I sense any improvement.

Worked like a charm on my older Denon. Even my wife commented on the good sound after I used it to calibrate the system.

Works great but be prepared to tape it or weigh it down because the attached cable makes it go all over the place.

Absolutely straightforward use plug-in play the receiver gives you instructions it helps to have the handbook or the manual to the receiver however to clarify some of the more specific details of the process. I was impressed at the capability this seemingly very inexpensive plastic microphone was at effectively analyzing my 7.1 surround system. Accomplishing in a half an hour what I could not accomplish over the period of several months during several different attempts at balancing an equalizing sound levels by my hand in here. I did need to adjust the balance due to partial hearing loss in one ear. But this microphone made the entire process so easy I would never attempt adjusting everything on my own again lol!

I suppose it works. No good way to compare. The packaging is terrible. This makes me question the quality control.

I've seen mixed reviews of the Audyssey system but for my amp, speakers and room it worked brilliantly. Flicking between the flat profile and the Audyssey corrected one showed an amazing improvement using carefully placed stand mounted speakers.
