Tore a ligament in my ankle and needed a brace after coming out of the hard plastic walking boot. Tried 3 different braces and this one was by far the worst. Little to no support. Very unstable and the part that goes under your foot is too thick and left a bruise after walking on it. I tried it on multiple days but I kept going back to cheaper more functional braces that offered way more support. My brace went out with the trash last week.

Update to 4 stars after receiving the correct item. This has a good fit and for me: the medium fits well inside my Hoka One Bondi SR size 10.5. I can move around with confidence and start working out again, three weeks after injury. I wouldn’t recommend this item for use immediately after a Grade II sprain, because you do have to flex a bit to slide this on, and it would be uncomfortable to do if you are still really sore or swollen. If you’re going to try a lot of impact, I’d recommend something stiffer. The stays in the sides and the thin bottom plate are stiff enough for me for getting around and light workout.***I ordered a left. The box said left but is now gone, in my haste to get some relief. But the item is configured and labeled for a right foot. I would love to have the left foot device because it is well made and would fit well.I will update if I get the correct item after return and replace.

I injured my ankle very badly 2 years ago. I recently re-injured it and ordered this brace. I've worn it for about 2 weeks now. It definitely prevents you from rolling your ankle again which is why I gave it five stars. Very easy to put on. However it does make my outer ankle feel bruised and the bottom of my foot has a lot of pressure when walking in shoes from the support underneath. STILL BETTER THAN ROLLING MY ANKLE AGAIN..Also it is very difficult to get off. Would not be good for a fresh injury but it's fine for daily use after recovery and trying to prevent future ankle rolling. I walked about 4 miles yesterday on very uneven trails with no injuries, just minor discomfort as described.

I really wish I could give this a higher rating. Really it's a good brace aside from the sizing. The small is too small, the medium is too big. I ended up going with the medium which lands the side supports slightly off enough to rub blisters on the outside of the ankle.I would say that if they could add a couple of extra sizes, for in between the small and medium, and the medium and large, they really would have the perfect support brace.

Well, after spraining my ankle a first time, I sprained it again just 9 weeks later using this ankle brace, once I got back to playing basketball. Before I used this brace, I used a more restrictive one that DonJoy also manufactures. I switched to this brace thinking my ankle was healed well enough and no longer needed such a sturdy brace. Turns out, my first game I used the less strong brace, I sprained my ankle even worse than the first time. Considering both braces, I definitely will probably only ever bother to wear the more restrictive one; because actually, it's restrictiveness was hardly noticeable and it is definitely worth not reinjuring my ankle.

End-user has had several braces from other companies and ordered the sizes he always does, only to find out that DonJoy has their own different sizes and the mediums he ordered were too small.He ordered one left and one right, and one of them was completely the wrong brace and NOT what he ordered.

The calf portion is very slim, I am not a large person (a women’s 12) but it cuts off my circulation around the top of the brace. I was right in the middle of medium and large so I went with a large and it’s still very uncomfortable, to the point I can’t wear it for more than a few minutes. I tried to return it and while it doesn’t mention it anywhere that I could find, it says the item does not qualify for returns. So I’m out $30 bucks for a brace that is ill fitting and unusable.

I rolled my ankle and used this support to continue surfing. Offers great support without limiting normal ankle movement.
