Great storage bag.
This was first time I used this method of storing and transporting luggage. I have a car without storage rails so I was thankful this was even possible. The bag is sturdy and certainly designed to be weatherproof. The flaps cover the zipper so no leakage is possible. It was easy to set up, the printed directions are decent. I would of preferred larger pictures to determine how the buckles are oriented but it can be figured out. I would recommend you have enough belongings to fill it completely. The more packed the better.I would of given it four stars but I don’t believe there is anyway getting around it, and I don’t believe it’s the product’s fault; but if you attach this bag to a car WITHOUT storage rails you will hear some wind as you drive -plus the protective layer also tends to make noise as it flaps in the wind. You can tuck it in but it still tends to come loose. I myself didn’t mind and in my opinion didn’t believe it was that loud or bothersome. At any rate it’s a small price to pay when you have no other options. If you have a large group of passengers you may receive some criticism over this wind noise…but that’s why there are headphones.

Worked Well and Actually Traveled with it Through Rain
So far I have been happy with this carrier. It is firmly build, attaches to the car easily, and kept the content well protected. I have the 15 cft model. Since I have a Subaru Crosstrek, there are times that the storage in the back is not enough for a trip, particularly when there are more than two passengers in the car. This carrier accommodated the extra carrying space that was needed. What do I like:1) The soft sides means that it is easy to store in a small garage as it folds nicely and can be put on a self in a small space.2) It attaches nicely to the roof. I have side racks on my car. With the soft sides and the protective mat, it nicely placed on the roof, and the straps firmly held the carrier to the side racks. No reason to invest in cross racks that it needs to sit on like with a hard carrier.3) The carrier worked well traveling through rain, keeping the content dry for the trip.Note that because of the outer protective coating and the squared off corners, as well as zippers that are recessed under a protective flap, the fact that it is waterproof also makes it a bit difficult to zipper shut. While this can be annoying, it is a small price to keep the carrier securely closed and also water tight.I would recommend this carrier.

Carrier flew off vehicle on the interstate at 70 mph.
We went on a short trip with this car top carrier secured to our roof with factory installed roof racks. I'm confident I secured it correctly according to the instructions. I've traveled with my kayak and I'm not a stranger to using straps with the roof rack.Once we hit a 70 mph zone on the interstate, we heard a noise and watched through the rear view mirror as the carrier flew off the top of our car and crashed then tumbled down the road. Thank God no body was behind us or they could have been killed.I pulled over and my wife and I struggled to get the carrier back on top of the car. We did it, but I had to modify the way I secured the carrier since one of the belts was no longer securely attached to the carrier. See the attached picture. The buckle broke away from the strap and the belt started to tear away from the luggage carrier. We completed the rest of our 150 mile drive at a greatly reduced speed worrying the entire time if it would fall off again. When we arrived at our destination, I inspected the carrier bag and our luggage. The carrier bag had tears and holes on the bottom due sliding down the interstate at 70 mph. Some of our luggage was damaged because it made contact with the road through those holes.I'm guessing the luggage carrier started to gain lift as we increased our speed and that lift was strong enough to break the buckle. That or the buckle that broke was just defective. Either way, it could have killed someone and I can't recommend this product to anyone.

Great product that can be removed from your roof once you reach your destination.
was looking for a quick and inexpensive way to carry camping stuff on a roof of our car. I made short research on internet and my choice fell on this car roof bag. Even though it’s not the cheapest option, I was very impressed by the quality of the materials, big size and easy and safe installation without passing straps inside the car, making the installation much more convenient and safe. My car does not have roof rails but that is not a problem at all because this bag is coming with 4 door hooks, which are easily connected directly to the car body. The bag itself is firm and very well made. It has heavy-duty zipper, which is completely covered by thick waterproof cover. The bottom of the bag is protected with a thick built-in mat to prevent accidental scratches to the roof.It took me just a few minutes to install this bag on my car. I was able to fit in all my camping equipment and it still had plenty of empty space inside. I strapped it firmly and made took it for test drive. There were no issues at all. I could barely feel that the bag is installed on the roof. Very quiet! It was also very easy to uninstall and to fold it up and moreover it does not need extra storage space. This car bag exceeded all my expectations. I am very happy with this purchase.

Trip-saver for my Mini
Once I realized that the last bits of my interstate move would not fit in my Mini Cooper... and that adding a hitch and lil trailer was totally ridiculous... or that post-market addition of roofrack was also not a great idea...finding this very flexible option served me so well! The zip and zip placket-cover are plenty sturdy, the bag keeps its shape well, and for me it was perfect to store less-dear items like pillows and blankets for my relocation. Or when strapping to my van for Burning Man, putting more dusty tarps or netting in it was perfect. Online videos were helpful.
