15 Amp Decora LED Illuminated Light Wall Switch 3-Way, L5613-2W

I love that you can tell if a light is off or on. I bought this for the lights beside my garage. There are two switches for these lights, one inside the garage and one by the front door. Every night I had to look at the cameras to see if the lights were on or not. This switch solves the problem. The only thing I would change the way the switch functions. The brighter light (on the switch) means the lights are off and the dimmer light means the lights are on. That may be because of the other switch's position, rather than the lights being on or off. I would reverse it because it isn't very intuitive. It just takes some getting used to. In the end, it is a time saver and a money saver because I am not turning the lights on and leaving them on all day long.

Installed a couple of these down a long dark hallway. Makes it easy to see where the switches are now. They are not bright at all, and they shouldn't be. Just enough light to plainly see where they are in the dark. Typical Leviton quality and super easy to install with either screws or push in 14-gauge solid copper wire.

Works well. Not as bright as I expected, so I hope the light will last longer than the last one.

Look in just about any American home today and chances are the switches and electrical receptacles are made by Leviton. The company has decades of experience in the industry and their products just work and keep working for ages. I started off swapping out the switches in my home to add illuminated switches as a convenience: it’s easy to find a light switch in the dark when the switch is glowing. This almost should be a requirement for all homes, but whatever. The first few switches I installed were cheap, generic switches with a distinctly Asian/Chinese brand name. They worked, but they had an amber glow, and they used a gas tube to generate the light and this had a tendency to flicker. I grabbed one of the Leviton LED switches at a big box store when I needed a 3-way lighted switch, and once I saw the pure white light on these and the nice glow around the button, I couldn’t go back to the orange ones. Yes, these are gonna set you back a bit if you upgrade all the switches in your home, but you shouldn’t ever have to replace these, and the LED should work for years if not decades.

Love the night time glow so you can quickly locate the switch. I wish it came in white and yellow glow.
