How many simultaneous key presses can this keyboard handle? NKRO?

i am curious about the key layout; so do you register the @ key by holding shift and the top number 2 key?

Space bar will not go down on extreme left; have to hit at least 1/3 of bar width from left to actuate. Will this "ease" with use or should I return?
