This takes flight and soars much better than the wind-up wooden airplanes. Yes, it's delicate. So handle with care. Best if an adult winds it up and just let the kids run after it to bring it back. Teach the kids how to hold it by it's body and not the wings. Don't play with it close to a house, as my heroic neighbor had to retrieve it off his roof for us.

I bought these for my wife’s grandchildren, she has not used them yet. I am so disappointed. Not in the product, but in the fact that this little bird brought my brother and myself so much joy when we were children. My mom and dad came back from a trip somewhere and brought them back for us. I was in seventh heaven, what an amazing little toy, hopefully my wife forces, her daughter, to play with the bird with her grandkids

Right out of the box the bird didn't work. There's a notch that's supposed to make it so you can wind up the rubber band and then release it. The notch was ineffective and the crank hit my finger nail about 25 times, ouch! Only worked as a glider then. I'd buy the larger version. It worked pretty well compared to this one.
