Worn through in 4 months
These are my second pair. They are comfortable, easy to use, light, and easy to wash. I bought this pair a month after my first pair, but they are now both wearing through and letting in water, after just 4 or 5 calendar months of use. I wish they were built more durable, as they are not cheap enough to be this flimsy

First was great, this new one better
Gave the first incarnation of Skinners 5 stars. They deserve it, the most uncompromising minimalist shoe I know [the official term is 'barefoot', but I dislike oxymorons, 'minimalist' more fitting], making all the competition less-than-minimalist. I'm hardcore, often going foot-naked if not entering a public facility, and down [walking/running] to ~ 25 degrees. Stopped wearing narrow toe-boxes in 1983, elevated heels [including running shoes] in 1994. This new version claimed numerous improvements: I trusted some of them, but was wary of compromise given the new insole; I don't fault them for the choice, these barefoot companies repeatedly thicken the outsole and/or add/thicken an insole, for example, in response to feedback on the initial design... situation is generally compromise or fail, otherwise they're running a charity. Sole Runners, e.g., adjusted by offering normal, 'wide' [still narrow], and 'extra-wide' [i.e., foot-shaped]. So I bought this new one - instantly disapproved, because of the insole and... because it felt different from the first. That initial feel-disapproval faded quick enough; the larger toe-box is appreciated. As for the insole, it is removeable [knew that], and, UNlike other 'barefoot' shoes like Vivo or Sole-runners, removing the Skinners insoles does not compromise the fit. The fact that the insole a] tightens the fit a bit, and b] buffers the ground-interaction a touch, makes it a better nature or athletic shoe where tighter fit and increased ground-insulation are desirable. I wear it day-to-day insoleless. Therefore, these new Skinners are an all-terrain vehicle. Like the 2-tone-blending more too. That I'm Czech, like the shoes, is a happy bonus. Five-stars-PLUS.

Skinners 2.0 Minimalist Barefoot Sock Shoes for Men
I bought the shoes are being part of the barefoot movement. I haven’t had much time to really give them a good test, but I did use them on the weekend at a very challenging hike. I don’t think the shoes were really meant for this type of challenge. There was a lot of sharp rocks and very thick tree branches all around after a little while my feet really started to hurt.
