Omm Sety's Abydos (SSEA Publication)

Having reincarnational memories Omm Seti eventually came back to Abydos and became an asset to Egyptolgists and tourist. This is a gude book for tourists and tells you all that you would see touring the Temple that Seti I and Ramesses II bult, and would be wondeful self guided tour book to have.

I had just finished reading "The Search for Omm Sety" and thought this would be a great follow up. I expected it to contain more information specific to Abydos, but it is really a very strangely formatted little pamphlet that is difficult to read and almost all a repetition of some of the content that is already in the main book.

If you love Egyptology and are interested in the history of Abydos and Omm Seti, this is a great read, and fun to see it as it was originally printed by Omm Seti/Dorothy Eady

Very interesting book on a very interesting lady. I have other books about Omm Sety that are more about her life than this one.

A rather disjointed, inexpensive reproduction of a minor work, but interesting in bits for Eady's comments.

Very fascinating, but since this is a technical publication, there are no illustrations of the scenes described. I found it hard to relate the descriptions to the illustrations being described that appear in other sources.

Dorothy Louise Eady, oder auch Omn Sety, habe ich vor einigen Jahren durch das Buch von Jonathan Scott (Search for OmmSety, a story of eternal love) kennengelernt und war total fasziniert. Ich war 1981 In Ägypten und damals waren kaum Touristen da und man konnte die wunderbaren Menschen in Ägypten gut kennen lernen. Ich war allerdings nicht in Abydos. Leider - die Route hat mich da nicht hingeführt. Ägypten ist für mich immer noch ein ganz spezielles Land. Jede neue Entdeckung wird genau nachgelesen. Und ich will meinem Mann unbedingt noch dieses Land zeigen und dabei auch Abydos erkunden. Und nun fand ich dieses Buch. Und das ist eine traumhafte und unglaublich detaillierte Beschreibung des Tempels von Sethos I. Auf der letzten Seite ist eine Zeichnung und man kann damit imaginär spazieren gehen. Wenn ich dort hinkomme werde ich sicher auch das Grab von Omn Sety besuchen. Es gibt eben Sachen zwischen Himmel und Erde die wir nicht kennen und beurteilen können. Aber eines stimmt sicher: nur die Liebe zählt - auch nach Jahrtausenden.

Questo libro è una sorta di diario ma non relativamente alle esperienze di vita di Omm Sety è più un quaderno di appunti relativi al suo lavoro ad Abydos. Spiegazioni sull'architettura, iconografia e utilizzo dei vari ambienti.

Un libretto che non può mancare per approfondire la conoscenza di Dorothy Eadie, conosciuta come Omm Seti (Madre di Seti, il nome del suo unico figlio), figura affascinante di studiosa seria e accurata che scrisse e collaborò con i maggiori egittologi egiziani nello studio del Tempio di Seti I ad Abydos, il luogo di pellegrinaggio tra i più antichi dell'Egitto faraonico.

Ottimo ma non completo mi aspettavo di piu' in dettaglio mia opinione.
