Rubbery squeak after 6 months
These wheels were great for the first 6-8 months. They install quickly and glide smoothly and quietly over hard floors. After that time, I noticed a rubbery, squeaky noise as the chair rolled around. I inspected the wheels and even lubed them with the some PTFE used for garage door tracks. No change. It turns out that the outer soft rubber part of the wheel has started to separate from the hard, inner plastic wheel. The gap between the two makes noise as the wheel rolls around. In time, I expect this to get worse and perhaps at some point the soft rubber will peel away, making it unusable. The manufacturer needs to improve the bonding of the soft outer rubber to the hard inner wheel.

A necessity for hardwood floors!
I have nice hardwood floors in my home office and I needed to bring my Aeron chair into the room. Obviously I was concerned about the casters tearing through my floor. I looked at many different options for my office chair and these seemed to be the ones with the lowest chance of the rubber sliding off and exposing my floor to the plastic interior. The casters came individually bubble-wrapped and installation was simple. Just pull the old casters out and jam these in. Rubber appears to be of good quality and there's no way it's going to slip off like some of the comparable products (the ones that look like regular casters with rubber bits where the wheel makes contact with the floor. They're very smooth and glide easily on the floor. They're stealthy, almost silent. And most importantly they're not hurting my floor (I'll update you guys if they start to). They also look cool.

Great on ceramic tile
Bought a set of these about a month and a half ago to install on a chair https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J5WJRMG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I bought from Amazon a couple of months earlier. The chair’s original wheels were the hard plastic double roller type and were not ceramic tile friendly (stuck in the grout lines). These wheels are excellent on tile. They don’t stick in the grout lines, make no noise and roll very smooth. Can’t judge the durability yet because they are so new.

I'm SO glad I got them
I just put these on my new computer gaming chair and they are SO smooth and quiet! And they don't make dents into the chair mat that take me 5 mins to get the chair out of from a seating position. Only to give up, stand up and yank it where I want it to go. Ugh. And going from mat to rug and back again is 10 times easier! I tell everyone I know about these wheels, no joke! I'm SO glad I got them! So treat yourself, GET some!

Why didn't we know about these years ago?
We bought these for both office chairs about a year ago when we replaced the flooring in our office. They are amazing! So easy to roll around, and they have not scratched our laminate flooring at all - the stock wheels that originally came with our chairs destroyed the old laminate flooring.

Gentle on floors
These are absolutely the most delicate wheels in the world. I was worried about scratching up my hardwood floors, and this produce is the perfect solution. The *only* complaint I could possibly come up with, is that they almost roll *too* well. No, I realize that's crazy. These are amazing. These are the wheels you want.

Best for hard floors, sinks in on carpet or even a pad over low pile carpet
I think these work best on hard floors - I have a fairly thick, stiff mat over a low pile carpet and they sunk in. I put the original wheels back on and my chair rolled better. If I had hard floors, they'd have been great.

Good idea who's time has come....or not.....
EDIT: Well, after less than a week, I figured out why it was stiff when moving around....one of the wheels is all but frozen and stuck, and a few more are following it on the road to self destruction....guess it's true what they say, "all that glitters is not gold". Sending this trash back and dropping my rating to one star. Avoid this garbage! These are a good idea, long overdue IMHO. The castors that come with many lower priced (and some higher priced!) office chairs are weak, break easily, and simply kill off a chair before it's time.I went for the smaller sized ones as the taller ones, while better looking, also raise your chair up a lot, perhaps too much for a standard desk height forcing you to be in an uncomfortable position. Even the smaller ones are around an inch or so taller than the stock castors, but at least that's manageable. These seem very strong what with being made entirely of metal as opposed to cheap plastic, and they roll around smoothly if a bit stiff which is the main reason I got them as I roll over several surfaces with my chair during the day. Time will of course tell on the durability front, but I have high hopes for these. They do cost a bit more than they should as they are really just re-purposed skate wheels, but they are a good investment overall if you want to keep you're chair going till it drops.
