Q: Does it come with a cover?

No. If this will be in any type of sun in downtime, you will want a cover. I also recommend a heat diffusion plate to better distribute heat. This thing gets hot enough to ruin cast iron if you are doing a long cook such as beans or chili. I use mine all the time. I still need to add wheels to mine though

Q: Without the pot moving with dish, the focal point will be off and worthless?

The reflector does work. But the stand is useless. I could never get the focal point adjusted so it never worked out for me at all. You have to custom build a stand to make this work. The focal point on my dish was always a couple of feet away from where I needed it for the pot. If you want to do solar cooking I recommend a sun oven box oven or go son parabolic tube system. Both of these systems work great. I’ve used them routinely for over a year. It’s not worth fooling with a parabolic dish.

Q: Does this product come with a base to hold it?

Yes it comes with the base but because the focal point is not the same for all the reflective surfaces it does not work as a solar cooker and can reflect the sun to your eyes.

Q: What is the diameter of the “hot spot” at 600mm “focal point” ? Basically does it heat entire 10 inch pan evenly or just a tiny spot near the center?

I haven’t measured the focal point, but I would guess that it’s around 5”, give or take. I usually use mine with cast iron cookware and don’t have major issues with hot spots. The cooking surface will get VERY hot on a bright, sunny day.
