OK while it lasted, broke after 4 months
It's a nice keyboard to use, keys feel good, looks great but I was hoping it would last longer. under 4 months in and it's dead. won't respond, won't charge, kaput. I left it in my bag overnight and maybe a key was being held down and flattened the battery?? but even after charging it now won't work. Other annoyances - it 'sleeps' after 30 mins which is fine, but it takes too long to wake up when you start typing again so you lose 1/2 a sentence every time. it shows 100% charge in the bluetooth list even if its almost flat. Just pay the extra and get the Apple Magic Keyboard which is what I'm now doing.

very laggy and unreliable - requesting return and refund
I really wanted to like this keyboard. The design is sleek, it matches my setup perfectly, and on paper it ticks all the boxes. Unfortunately, the actual experience has been pretty disappointing. First off, the Bluetooth connection has been unreliable. It randomly disconnects or lags, especially when switching between devices, which completely defeats the purpose of a multi-device keyboard. Sometimes there’s a noticeable delay when typing, and other times keystrokes just don’t register at all. It’s incredibly frustrating when you’re trying to get work done. The backlight is another letdown. It looks nice in a dark room, but the brightness levels feel inconsistent, and it drains the battery faster than expected. Speaking of battery, I find myself charging it way more often than I should for something in this price range. The typing experience also isn’t as good as I hoped. The keys feel a bit cramped and not as responsive as advertised. After longer typing sessions, it actually becomes uncomfortable. For the price, I expected a much more reliable and polished product. Right now it feels like I paid mostly for aesthetics rather than performance. I’d like to request a refund, as this hasn’t met my expectations at all.

Not Easy To Set Up But Good When Connected.
Spent ages trying to get. SATECHI Slim X1 Bluetooth Backlit Keyboard paired to MacMini - not showing on devices . Update: I checked out YouTube and discovered that unplugging MacMini resets bluetooth - and now I am glad to say Satechi Keyboard is up and running. So far so good.

Broke just out of warranty - buy cheap, buy twice prevails again
Broken. Just out of warranty. It was alright while it worked but not as good as the Apple keyboard. I regret not spending a bit more and getting an established brand. Class ic Amazon selling something a bit cheaper that is actually a rip off even at a lower price.

Defective Keyboard - Many Keys, Function Keys and Backlighting NOT WORKING AT ALL
Bought this as 'Used - As New' from Satechi (seller) fulfilled by Amazon. All seemed brand new, undamaged, in amazing condition out of the box. After switching it on however the problems started: made sure battery was fully charged, and connected it to an Ipad and a Mac computer via Bluetooth and in Wired mode. Sadly however, the backlight doesn't work at all, many of the keys and functions were unresponsive and did not work AT ALL. The Return key didn't work AT ALL. The Space Bar didn't work AT ALL. The Cursor keys did not work AT ALL. You literally press the keys and nothing happens. The keys that do work, work totally fine. But the many (25 keys in total)) that don't work, do not work AT ALL so you can't work around it - you literally can't use it in any meaningful way without half the letters working and without Space Bar and even Return working. Then there's teh Function (Fn) buttons: Function (Fn) buttons: F1 and F2 : Brightness up and down works OK F3: brings up a kind of Spotlight Search but just a search bar - looks different to normal F4: nothing happened. Doesn't do anything. F5: Backlight down - nothing happened (backlight didn't work anyway) F6: Backlight up - nothing happened, it didn't increase backlight (backlight not working at all) F7, F8, F9 - Media keys - only F8 worked - as a start/stop (backward F7 and forward F9 buttons didn't work) F10, F11, F12 - Volume keys - only F10 works as a Mute/Vol On button (Up and down don't work) Basically a largely defective keyboard. This is sold by Satechi and Fulfilled by Amazon - it was an 'Open Box' type product, so must have been returned at some point by someone. You would THINK that Satechi or Amazon would check that it works before a. marketing it as 'As New', b. re-selling it and c. sending it out for delivery even at an albeit reduced price. It seems totally disingenuous and potentially borderline fraudulent to market it as 'Used - As New' when clearly it is not 'in an 'As New' condition at all. And judging by the pristine packaging and visible condition of the keyboard, it doesn't look like it was damaged in transit (although I appreciate you never can tell for sure) Amazon thankfully resolved the issue to get me a replacement Satechi keyboard sent out, although I am unenamoured, unimpressed and not expecting much...but we will see... I deliberated long and hard about whether to buy a Satechi product over an Apple Magic Keyboard, a Logi keyboard, or even a Keychron B1 Pro before making this purchase and what a waste of time the Satechi turned out to be (or at least buying a Used As New product turned out to be). Satechi portrays itself as a premium brand in its marketing and its pricing. But my experience was anything but.. Disappointing first time experience with Satechi - enough to put me off the brand but let's see if the replacement keyboard works...

Good Quality but intermittent connection issues since i bought it
Going to be honest here, Ive had this keyboard for 8 plus months now and its very intermittent. The build quality is good but it can be fine for a few hours then all of a sudden it lags on the keyboard or doesnt work at all, in fact its just starting doing again as im typing this. Ive tried the satechi guides, different blue tooth channels etc and multiple devices so can confirm its deffo an issue with the keyboard, never have it with others. Worth mentioning ive had connection issues before where it randomly disconnected and wouldnt reconnect so had to reset it, sometimes it flashes need for charge the day after ive charged it overnight, generally good quality feel but frustrating as hell with its issues

Satechi Slim X1 Review
I've only had this keyboard a day but so far it's really good. I'm coming directly from the Apple Magic Keyboard (full size), and while this does feel different it's about as close as you're going to get. The keys have a tad more travel, it feels like one of the older MacBooks circa 2010, which isn't a bad thing. The backlight works well too, there's a little bit of bleed around the keys as well as the actual letters lighting up, which I think is by design rather than a technical limitation. It would have been nice to have a UK keyboard layout option, but it's not the end of the world. shift + 3 is the £ sign if anyone is wondering. The build quality is very good, it's up there with the Apple Magic Keyboard. The grey colour of the keyboard doesn't match the space grey of the Apple magic keyboard exactly, it's a slightly lighter shade (see attached photograph). It doesn't bother me as I'm using it together with an Apple Magic Mouse which is black on top, but I could see it being an issue if you were looking to colour match to the Magic Trackpad. Connectivity seems good. It paired with my M1 Mac mini with no issues, and wakes the computer from sleep just fine. The keyboard can be paired with up to 3 wireless devices, and can be used wired as well. I haven't encountered the issue with the keyboard not being recognised at the login screen, or with key presses registering more than once - which was mentioned in a couple of the other reviews. It all works fine for me. The function keys labeled for screen brightness don't seem to work though. I have an Apple Thunderbolt Display connected to my Mac mini, and using the same keys on my previous keyboard adjusts the screen brightness. I don't know if I've not set it up correctly or something, but the rest of the function keys work fine and do as you would expect. Over all I'd give this keyboard 5 stars. While it's not perfect, the price is reasonable and I think the score needs bumping up a bit as it should be more than 3/5. Until Apple decide to make the space grey Magic Keyboard in the smaller size, this is the nearest you're going to get.

Great product
Seamless connection and switching between devices. Really a great device and finishing is spectacular. It’s so slim, I won’t leave it in office just because most of my staff eyes are in this keyboard ha ha.
