Ok, but I wouldn't buy it again
I've bought this book a couple of weeks ago and I'm honest: I'm disappointed. I don't say that VRT (= visual resistance training) doesn't work but if you expect to get a systematic approach how to use it - forget it.To be honest the book is just a collection of classic BB-exercises and the instruction to move as if you were using heavy weight. That's pretty much it. There is a large routine section though, but it suffers from the same problem of the whole book - bad editing (columns, various font sizes, line breaks etc.), superficial content and bad presentation.I give Mr. Mangan props for putting forward this concept but this book could've been a lot better. My humble opinion.

Lazy rehash of old booklet to get some extra cash
I can confirm what a previous reviewer has written - this 'book' is basically just a reprint of an old booklet that the author provides in a separate package that comes with a DVD demonstrating this method of exercise. Now the DVD you can get is just a transfer of a recording that the author did for a VHS sometime in the 1980s/1990s I believe - however while low quality it is a useful demonstration of this form of exercise. The book that is available here is primarily the information and photos that are in the booklet that comes with the DVD, along with some added ideas for routines to follow. This book appears to be using some kind of 'print on demand' facility, which is fair enough, however it is badly written with spelling and grammar errors. It also is badly formatted, with the type and photos looking a mess. The photos are also small, black and white, and as mentioned before, the same photos that come with the booklet and were taken many years ago.If, like myself, you have the previously released DVD and booklet, I would advise against buying this too - I thought this would be a newly written book with more information and ideas on this type of exercise. I guess I should have known better, as I asked the question as to whether this had new information on the forum at [...] where the author sometimes participates and also sells the DVD package - and my question was not answered. It is a shame that I feel that I have to write such a negative review, as the exercise method itself is of value when studied and practised for some time. If you don't already have the DVD package or know anything about this form of exercise, then it may have some value, however you would probably need to spend more time reading up on the internet and Transformetrics site/forum to 'get' this way of exercising, as most people don't, especially to start with. The sad thing is that I suspect that most people who would know about this and be likely to buy the book would be those of us who already know quite a bit about it and maybe already have the DVD. I learned nothing new from this book at all. It is also quite expensive for the size and poor quality of the book.

A Good Technique I'm Glad I Learned...
I purchased this book a while back and recently re-read it. Frankly I missed some things the first time through and I'm glad I read it again! It would be easy to overlook or underestimate the value of what Greg writes, so it pays to read it, try it, re-read it. Greg is very accessible online and will answer your questions. I appreciate that about him. This is an excellent INTRODUCTION to the topic of VRT. It's far from "everything" that can be said about it. I purchased it on special and for a few dollars, I was satisfied with my purchase. Most importantly I actually USE the information because it's proven itself helpful to me.My interest these days is largely strength endurance. I do other forms of training and dismissed VRT at first for my purposes, but find myself using VRT now as a "finisher" ... a way to put the final touches on my workouts which otherwise are more based on calisthenic action with some endurance emphasis. Here's what I missed the first time. After showing the basic exercises and focusing on the "pump" for muscle growth, Greg discusses an endurance routine using VRT exercises. I'd entirely missed that. This ties VRT even more perfectly into what I'm trying to accomplish, but I'd done exactly what he warned about! I had read too quickly and not paid attention to that key bit of information! Now I will be looking for ways to include VRT earlier in my workouts. I see now it helps in ways I'd never dreamed. As I mentioned, it would be easy to underestimate the value of this little book. Why not 5 stars? I did think the formatting for Kindle might have been done better (a publisher's issue, not the author's)... Also Greg has answered enough questions on his forum since publication that I believe this could be expanded some, though the essentials are amply present in the work as it stands.

I purchased the original booklet in 1987, I thought it was BS, so i gave it to a friend...How wrong I was! after more than 30 years, it is the only exercise system that work for me, I am free from all the pains that go with my age. I don't give a 10 star. because there are no 10 stars:in the review!
