We had purchased a $200.00 ice/cold water circulating machine to use after a knee surgery but found it cumbersome to use and to keep refilling with large amounts of ice. This pad works just as well for us and is cold enough and easy to refreeze and use. This is all we use now for the knee. If your going to use 20 minutes on then 20 minutes off then on again as some Drs suggest might need two, but still worth it for us. They also have excellent Customer Service. First one arrived damaged and after one phone call we had a new one shipped in one day. Very pleasant and efficient Customer Service people.
