Jim Dunlop EQ Effects Pedal (M225)

The low octave effect on this sounds really good, and the high octave sounds like it should. I'm really not a fan of the high octave, but that's not this pedal's fault. (I don't like that effect in general.)This is my favorite fuzz pedal.

MXR delivers a great sounding, solid build pedal. A fuzz octave with the added bonus of the sub octave. A beefy, muscular tone. I had a blast playing Cream, Mountain and Black Sabbath riffs with this. This is my sixth MXR pedal and I can honestly say MXR has never let me down.

Great useable fuzz. Sub octave makes things get heavy. Octave up is nice too.

This fuzz is primarily a version of mxr's la machine with an added sub octave. It's a tasty fuzz on its own, reminiscent of the foxx tone machine from the 70s. The octave up and sub octave can be ran either parallel or in series and the fuzz can be removed completely leaving only the sub octave signal. Tech specs aside, this pedal sounds great and gets a full 10 on the badass-o-meter. Throw on a nice gooey phaser and your in funk heaven. The tone knob tames the highs nicely and being true bypass there is no tone loss. Being that this pedal is only $10 more than their excellent la machine, picking up this pedal should be a no brainer. Once again, well done mxr.
