Nature DX ED’s optical performance rivals that of more expensive binoculars, at a price to fit your budget. This versatile, all-around binocular is a great choice for the trail, the stadium, the arena or just about anywhere you want a close-up view of the action without sacrificing brightness or detail. It’s an especially great companion for nature observation and bird watching with ED glass that helps you spot the subtlest field markings and a close focus of just 6.5 feet. Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, also known as color fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars. Nature DX ED delivers razor-sharp images, even at the edges of the field of view. ED glass is also known for producing images with outstanding, true-to-life color. Not all ED glass is created equal. Celestron’s high-quality ED glass delivers visibly brighter, sharper images compared to non-ED binoculars. The difference is especially apparent in low light conditions, such as at dawn or dusk. Nature DX ED features fully multi-coated optics. A binocular can be considered “fully multi-coated” when all air-to-glass surfaces are coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings so that the maximum amount of light passes through the glass to the eye. The prisms inside Nature DX ED are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass with phase coatings applied so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. Taken together, the fully multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The ED objective lenses further enhance these features, especially in low light conditions. ## Features - Extra-low dispersion (ed) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration or color fringing - You'll enjoy razor-sharp images with outstanding, true-to-life color - A rubber-armored, polycarbonate housing protects your binoculars from damage - They're also fully waterproof and nitrogen purged to prevent internal fogging of the lenses - Bak-4 glass with phase coatings applied to maximize light transmission ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00KV718JE | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Apparent Angle of View | 7.5 Degrees | | Best Sellers Rank | #18,910 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #73 in Binoculars | | Brand | Celestron | | Built-In Media | 1 x Celestron Nature DX ED Premium Roof Binocular, 8 x 42 mm Size, Black | | Coating | Multi-Coated | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | tripod | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars (536) | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 10 Years | | Enclosure Material | Rubber | | Exit-Pupil Diameter | 5.25 Millimeters | | Eye Relief | 17.8 Millimeters | | Features | Waterproof | | Field of View | 7.5 | | Focus Description | Manual Focus | | Focus Type | Center Focus | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00050234723329 | | Item Dimensions L x W | 43.6L x 16W centimeters | | Item Type Name | Binoculars | | Item Weight | 950 Grams | | Low Light Technology | Yes | | Magnification Maximum | 8 x | | Manufacturer | Celestron Acquisition, LLC | | Manufacturer Part Number | 72332-CGL | | Model Name | Nature DX | | Model Number | 72332-CGL | | Mount Type | Tripod Mount | | Number of Items | 1 | | Objective Lens Diameter | 42 Millimeters | | Prism Type | BaK-4 Prism with Phase Coating | | Relative Brightness | 5.25 | | Size Map | Full Size | | Specific Uses | Hiking and Outdoors, Travel | | UPC | 050234723329 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Limited Lifetime Warranty | | Water Resistance Level | Waterproof | | Zoom Ratio | 8 multiplier_x | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Celestron - **Max. magnification:** 8 x - **Objective lens diameter:** 42 Millimeters - **Special features:** Waterproof ## Images ![Nature Dx Ed Premium Roof Binocular, 8 X 42 Mm Size, Black - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61etaP3uu8L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Pattern, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Has any one used these for astronomy?** A: The 10x50 Nature DX ED binoculars work very well for astronomy. The 5mm exit pupil gives bright images, and the ED glass minimizes false color in stars and the moon when viewing. Under dark skies, dozens of galaxies, star clusters, and nebulae become visible. **Q: The description here says 2-year warranty, but the Celestron website says it's a limited lifetime warranty. Is this one an exception?** A: the focus of the binoculars, which is the most important part. is only covered by the warranty for thirty days. Just spoke with celestron, mine can no longer focus, everything double after 40 days. told not covered as it is over 30 days. My binoculars are useless after 40 days. will try another company **Q: What is the difference between dx vs dx ed** A: ED is a glass that disperses color better than untreated glass. It used to only be on expensive binos but now it is standard on all but the cheapest binos. The color in the Celestron Nature ED glasses is superb. You'd have to put them on an optical bench to see the difference from $2500 binos. **Q: 17.17 x 6.30 x 3.15 inches is the meadsurement you have on your specs. Celestron specs are 5.59 x 5.04 x 2.2". Which one is right?** A: Mine are 5.6" x 5.2" x 2.2" as accurately as I can measure with a ruler. ## Frequently Bought Together - Celestron–Nature DX ED 8x42 Premium Binoculars –Extra-Low Dispersion Objective Lenses –Outdoor and Birding Binocular–Fully Multi-Coated with BaK-4 Prisms–Rubber Armored – Fog & Waterproof Binoculars - Celestron – Smartphone Photography Adapter for Telescope – Digiscoping Smartphone Adapter – Capture Photos and Video Through Your Telescope or Spotting Scope Eyepiece - Celestron 93524 Roof and Porro Binocular Tripod Adapter, Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sk/products/321852702-nature-dx-ed-premium-roof-binocular-8-x-42-mm](https://www.desertcart.sk/products/321852702-nature-dx-ed-premium-roof-binocular-8-x-42-mm) --- *Product available on Desertcart Slovakia* *Store origin: SK* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
