Does anyone know where to purchase them?** A: Our filters are custom produced for this percolator. There are probably similar filters on the market somewhere, we just do not know where. I apologize. In the near future, Coletti will offer replacement filters for sale on Amazon. **Q: Does it stop percolating when done or do you gauge it yourself by turning off heat?** A: We at Coletti believe there is something meaningful in crafting your own coffee - from start to finish. This is a manual non-electric stove top percolator. Once it begins to perk (you will see coffee splash up into the glass top) most people allow it to brew for 4-7 minutes before serving. It also comes with instructions. **Q: Can you use it just boil water when camping?** A: I haven’t done this but it is used to boil water, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work without the coffee grounds to just boil water. I say yes, you can. **Q: How do you use this when your camping (on a campfire) if the handle is made of wood?** A: Wrap the wood with aluminum foil. It should be okay. And, of course you don't want high flames. Godd sturdy design to use on gas cooker. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perking in style *by D***S on 26 January 2026* Good quality product, excellent coffee ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Takes a bit of experimenting to get it right but worth the effort. *by F***N on 5 July 2026* So, after this arrived I tried a few times with coffee beans I ground myself and the results were not great. I went to the Colletti YouTube account and watched several videos after which my coffee improved greatly. There is definitely a learning curve that has to be gone through but it is worth the effort. Apparently, the coffee beans need to be ground coarse. I ground some very coarse and it was no good again. So I suppose it depends on what is meant by coarse and I came to the conclusion that the coffee granules had to be somewhat bigger than the fine ground powder you put in a filter machine but there should not be great big bits of coffee pieces in the grind. The other thing is how long you percolate the coffee - the video I watched said 7 - 10 minutes so I went with the 10 minutes option. They also say heat the percolator with a low to medium low heat otherwise too much bitterness is released. In the end I finally started to get really good hot coffee which is what I was aiming for in the first place. It's worth noting that they say you should not overtighten the glass top piece so I just gently turned it until it stopped and that works very well. I also bought Colletti's spare pack of two glass tops just in case 1 breaks. It was just under £10. Finally you need to put the paper filters into the pot as recommended otherwise you run the risk of gritty coffee.
