It was not easy to find an HDMI extractor for XBOX X. Took a few tries and this is bulls eye. Supports 4K. ARC has a dedicated switch and not a button like some devices. And it works! I like having that option, but not so much for ARC as a technology. There is an audio delay setting in the TV that may need to be tuned as TV guesses how to match audio and video streams. TV has an optical output, but intentionally only outputs 2.0 stream. ARC solves that problem, but suffers audio sync issues. Luckily, this device can intercept digital stream before it hits TV and problem solved. Only downside, TV will not turn off automatically with XBOX as it would if directly plugged in. Bonus points for 5V power supply and TOSLINK optical cable included. Bottom line, this fixes big flaw in XBOX X design - no audio output. No need to buy a new receiver to have 4K video.

I have an old TV that I keep in our spare bedroom. The TV works perfectly, but has no audio output and the speaker is tinny. I used this to capture audio and output it to a Bose speaker and it works very well. It was an inexpensive solution that is going to extend the useful life of this TV by years.

Oh boy! Not sure where to start. First of all: This HDMI 2.0b Audio Extractor, Splitter, Converter is not constructed of quality material. The main components is housed in a plastic casing that comes apart very easily without much force. It's like constructed of cheap particle board. The ports for inserting the HDMI and O cable in isn't soddered onto the main board firmly enough. They pushed in when I tried inserting the required cables. The video signal being transmitted from the unit to my TV is very shaky. You have to keep cycling the On/Off switch to stabilize the picture. Even then, after say 30 minutes of viewing a movie the color distorts and the audio becomes very staticky. Worst of all the unit stopped working after less then 3 weeks of use. Tried contacting customer service about the problem. They couldn't even understand what I clearly spelled out in the support email. Guess I know why so many Amazon consumers ask was a product produced in the United States. I wouldn't recommend this 4K@60Hz HDMI 2.0b Audio Extractor Splitter Converter, HDMI to HDMI + Optical Toslink SPDIF + 3.5mm Stereo Analog Audio, HDMI Audio Embedder Inserter for PS5,Xbox, Optical Fiber or any other similar product produced by Avedio Links. Caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware.)

First, this was the only cheap solution for my problem: older TV with finicky ARC port plus speakers plus Google TV. Plug the Google TV on the HDMI input, plug the speakers on the audio output, plug the TV on the HDMI output. Worked fine. Even though the product pictures say that it does not support CEC, meaning that I cannot control any volumes from the remote, neither from my Google TV dongle, nor from the TV, only from the amplifier volume knob. So it works, but I'm still kind of disappointed. Gave 5 stars because the product does everything that was supposed to, and solved my problem, but still could be a bit better.

UPDATED REVIEW: For sending audio via HDMI ARC from a new TV to an optical input on an older receiver for 5.1 surround, the unit worked perfectly for a month and then died, BUT after I posted an honest but negative review, the seller immediately reached out to offer me a replacement or refund (after the return window had closed). I think it's always a small gamble buying anything like this at such a low price, but at least in my situation, the seller made the risk safe. By the way, I was not asked to revise my review here, I was simply so impressed with their kindness and professionalism, I wanted to share the story and reassure any future buyers that at least for me, this seller backed up their product no questions asked. I'd give it 5 stars if it had not stopped working prematurely, and they earned all 4 with their customer service.

New TV didn’t have optical audio connection for the surround sound system. This works great from the HDMI connection to the optical connection with much better sound.

This product allows me to use an older surround receiver having optical inputs with a new television having HDMI eARC output. It works properly when the selected video source is the cable box, streaming services, or over the air broadcast. I can now get the surround channels from the television into my receiver. I don't even have a HDMI input plugged into it - just the eARC output from the television. This is exactly what I wanted when I purchased this device. However, the device arrived with a non-functioning 5V power adapter, and I am having no luck getting the vendor to send me one. This has caused me to deduct two stars. I still may return the product over that one thing.

Failed after three months do not buy this product

When the sound output on my 4k tv stopped working I added this in between the firetv cube and the tv to connect an amplifier lacking hdmi. Still get 4k and no need to have the tv on at all if only streaming music .
