In opening a really nice aged whiskey and boxed whiskey set I’d bought as a gift, it was pretty disappointing to see that the manufacturer had engraved their company logo and a weird saying on all of accessories in the wooden box, including the slate coasters. So, I did some homework and found some DIY craft sites with info on how to use glass etch cream and adhesive vinyl stencils to etch slate. So glad I took the chance, bought these slate coasters, and tried it! Ended up replacing the ugly coasters that came with the whiskey box set with these (and customized the rest of the stuff in the set, all with an image and the name of his boat). They turned out awesome and he loved the coasters (and all of the gift).The coasters arrived carefully packaged and completely intact. The look and feel great, definitely high quality - much better than I thought they’d be, given the low price.Highly recommended and I’ll be buying more! I purchased these coasters to laser engrave and gift. With the right power and focus setting, you'll get a sharp edge to your engraving. I've now purchased two boxes, and the coasters are very good quality. Each coaster is very close to a perfect 4 inch square and has rubber feet on the back side. I saw no cracks or chips, other than on the edges, which is the intended hand-crafted look. I recommend that after engraving, you coat both sides with a water-based satin finish, two or three coats. This gives a sharp and contrasty look to your engraving.

Nice assortment of dark slate tile coasters. Real slate. Great value. Feet attached to protect surfaces. The thickness can be slightly variable from tile to tile as they are natural. Nice heft. No chipping. Thanks!

I've gone through many of these coasters with my laser and they are excellent for your hobby or side hustle. The only issue I see is a slight inconsistency in the sizes.
