FAST, EASY AND PERFECT TEXTURE
I really like the Starbuck's egg bites, particularly because of the unique spongy texture, which is achieved through this cooking style using water. I read through dozens of the reviews on here and decided to buy this, and I was certain to incorporate some of the recommended adjustments from other reviewers. The unit just arrived today and I made two batches immediately. I am still in the experimentation phase with the salt level, spices and what other ingredients I want to add to the egg bites (meat, veggies, etc.). But I can say ~ with absolutely certainty ~ that the "texture" is 100% spot on with Starbuck's version, with the ratio of the CORE ingredients that I've used both times (see below). I will detail the unit shortly, but first I wanted to show the ratio of CORE ingredients that I used for these 2 batches. NOTE: I did not spray anything in the silicone cups and the egg bites fell right onto the plate. I blended all of these ingredients together in my Ninja smoothie maker: -Cottage cheese: 4 Tablespoons -Whole eggs: 4 (use 7 if only egg whites) -Meunster cheese: 1/3 cups finely shredded -Half and half: 1 Tablespoon -Cornstarch: 1/2 Tablespoon If you are wondering why I added cornstarch, it is because it binds proteins together and absorbs moisture, which prevents egg dishes from being watery. If I were planning to incorporate a variety veggies into the egg bites, then I would increase it to 1 whole Tablespoon. For the first batch, I finely minced and sauteed red pepper to equal about 1/3 cup cooked red pepper. The 1/2 Tablespoon of cornstarch was adequate for only one veggie. NOTE: It is important to always saute' veggies first so they loose excess moisture! I filled the silicone cups 3/4 full (using just under a 1/4 measuring cup) and cooked for exactly 12 minutes. They were perfectly done. However, during the last 1.5 minutes of cooking time, they did 'puff up,' which caused the lid on the unit to rise just a little bit and the the tops of the egg whites got just a little browned. This is not a big deal to me. The egg bites ended up sinking back to size after a minute or two of cooling. SIZE OF UNIT: It is not a large, cumbersome unit at all. It is the perfect size to fit inside of a cupboard. EASE OF USE: Pour water in the tray (2 silicone cups), fill the cups, close the lid, plug in. Set the timer for 12 minutes. Done. Want a fast, delicious and inexpensive way to make breakfast? This is the winning ticket!!! COOKING: This cooks the egg bites perfectly in 12 minutes and achieves the ideal texture (if using the correct ratio of CORE ingredients). NOTE: Do not plug the unit in until the silicone cups are filled and ready to go. Once they are ready, close the lid, plug it in and set the timer for 12 minutes. CLEAN UP: Wipe the top and bottom tray; clean the cups. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 9-10-23 I made two more batches using only egg whites this time. First batch: I used minced, cook turkey bacon and sautรฉed, minced red pepper for the fillings. The texture was %100 spot on with Starbucks egg bites. Second batch: I used both sautรฉed, minced onions and red pepper. Because I used 2 veggies this time, I need to increase the cornstarch to 1 Tablespoon because the texture was only about 95% close to Starbuck's egg bites. This is because of moisture from using two veggies. NOTE: I also noticed that when using only egg whites, they do stick just a little to the cups. So what I did is after the 12 minutes, I unplugged the machine and left them sitting in it and used a small spatula around the edges of each cup and lifted them just a touch. Then I let them sit there for 10 minutes before plopping onto a plate. This worked perfectly!

I love this machine!!!
I used to buy egg bites at Costco, and you only get eight egg bites for $10. Now I can make my own and they taste even better than the store-bought. The instructions say to cook the egg bites for 8 to 10 minutes. I found that to be quite accurate as long as you wait for the water to start boiling. The instructions say that you do not need to use nonstick spray for the cups, but said that you could use it. I didnโt use any spray, and they pop right out. If they donโt pop out then they might not be done yet. Or if you let them sit in the pan for a while, then they might be a little bit difficult to get out, so itโs better to take them out right away. But to be careful because those little cups are very hot! I just turn them upside down on a big plate and they pop out. Then I turn them over and put cheese so it can melt. The instructions say to only fill the cup 3/4 of the way up to allow room for expansion. I did this on my first batch, and they did not rise to the top of the cup like expected. So the next batch I filled them almost all the way to the top. They came out just fine, but the cheese that I put on top did kind of make contact with the upper plate and got cooked pretty well. I like that though. Keep in mind the more ingredients you put into the cup, the less egg you will fit. I found it best to put my ingredients in first and then pour the egg on top. The egg flows down and fills in all the gaps in between the ingredients. The instructions say to use two of the little cups to put water on the bottom, and then you place the cups on top of the water. You can see in the video how the steam rises up to help cook the eggs. The little cups are easy to clean by hand. I tend to drip little strings of cheese into the water and sometimes egg if it drops off of my cup as I pour. But that is still easy to clean up with paper towels when Iโm done cooking. I put one in the freezer and ate it the next morning, and it was really good. So today I made another big bunch of them and froze half of them. I would love to get an extra set of cups so I can stage them to be ready when I pull one batch out. Just make sure you add water before you add the next load because the water does tend to evaporate. I canโt say enough how much I love this machine and how easy it is to use and how good the egg bites turn out. I thought they would be all spongy and gross, but they are absolutely wonderful! Do be careful when using this machine. It does get hot. Steam can burn you. The cups are hot when you remove them from the machine. I am really impressed with this machine.

Mix your ingredients, pour them into the molds, and let the machine do its magic. The sous vide style ensures that the egg bites are cooked evenly, resulting in a fluffy and moist texture - a culinary delight every time. **Family Size for More Joy**: I love its design for family use. The capacity is perfect for preparing multiple servings at once, so I can quickly whip up breakfast for the whole family or have a batch ready for a few days. **Versatility at Its Best**: The versatility of this product is another huge plus. Easy to use. Freeze well. Can make ahead
I have enjoyed using this product. It is easy to use, after the learning curve. I use it often. It does not have an on/off switch. Just plug it in and it starts heating. I would prefer an on/off switch. Silicone cups do not need greasing, which is great. I can make a batch, turn them out and make a second batch without washing them or greasing them. I place the 9 cups on the heating surface, pour 1 cup of water around them and plug it in to start the water heating. While heating, I add any "filling" ingredients. Cheese, bacon, ham, chopped sautรฉed veggies? Personal choice. Beat the eggs with seasoning and some milk, cream or water. I use about 6 eggs, but you will have to experiment, as egg sizes differ and it will also depend how many additional ingredients you add. Each cup is 1/4 cup capacity. First photo shows raw ingredients. Second photo shows how lid raises during cooking. Third photo show after they are cooked. The lid pushes up during cooking because the egg puffs up, soufflรฉ style. They drop back down once they start to cool. Usually they need 12 minutes to cook, but this will depend on how full the cups are. 10 minutes is not enough with mine, and I preheat the water, as I said. I make multiple batches, freeze leftovers and then use them from the freezer. Microwave for 1 min from frozen, but this will depend on the size, number and microwave. As I mentioned, there is a learning curve. I was hoping the unit could be used as a panini press or for grilled cheese sandwiches, but it is not heavy enough and does not press down on a sandwich enough. The unit is quite lightweight. It *does* do the job it was made to do.

Easy, fast, healthy breakfast!
Takes 2 minutes to throw some scrambled eggs in this bad boy, and about 12 minutes later, I am enjoying fluffy, delicious egg bites. As a mom of 7, this is SO CONVENIENT! I use it nearly every day. The silicone cups wash easily in top rack of dishwasher. The appliance itself is easily emptied and wiped clean, too. Be careful when opening at the end of cooking, because the handle can get hot, as well as the steam that comes out. Comes with a recipe booklet that includes...Cheesecake! I have only done egg bites so far. Recommend!!!

Works great and small enough for travel
We were traveling and I didnโt want to have to eat out all the time. I ordered this to be delivered to the place we were staying. This thing works great! Takes up little space and cooks/cleans up nicely. If you put too much egg mixture in, it will poof up and cook a pile extra on the top, but I donโt mind a little browning. If you donโt want the tops browned, only fill the little cups halfway. Iโve used it a bunch over the last couple months and itโs help up well. One of the cups did tear a bit, so itโs not really usable, but that was probably my fault. Not sure how it happened. Anyway, if you want to make a bunch of egg bites, this is a great size and does a nice job. It does come with a recipe book for making other stuff, like mini cheesecakes, but I havenโt done anything but egg bites in it. Two thumbs up. I liked it so much I actually bought a smaller version that has an egg McMuffin sized cup for my dad and he uses it daily. There are some great options out there for sizes if you donโt like mini bites. Highly recommend.

I already own the tools in my kitchen to do what this appliance does
For what this product does, I could have just bought the silicone molds and used a pan w/lid that I already owned. This is a steamer essentially, nothing that couldn't be accomplished at home with a pan you probably already own the souffle dishes or silicone molds. I bought two for Christmas gifts, then sent one back. Pros: Great idea for steaming breakfast souffles and quiches. Cheaper than retail coffee outlets that sell similar products. It could be a great steam or cook surface for other uses. Cons: Fixed temperature, not adjustable. Limits what you can use it for outside of steaming. Cons: You most likely have this capability in your kitchen already. The expense is unnecessary. Buy the silicon molds and use your existing pots and pans. If you don't have a pan with a nice lid, this may be something worth investing in if you eat lots of egg quiche / breakfast souffle.

Versatile and light weight
I just received this a couple days ago. I also ordered the Dash Deluxe Sous Vide Style Silicone Egg Cups to use in the family size cooker. I love this thing. I have a different brand of a similar cooker. I like it, too, but it's quite a bit heavier than this Dash product. This works well for cooking something other than egg bites. This morning, I cooked a sausage patty and a hamburger bun. Then, I made a sandwich with the bun, sausage patty and an egg bite I made yesterday with the big silicone egg cup. I actually made four of the eggs with 1 jumbo egg and egg whites to almost fill the egg cup. Four of the egg cups fit in the family size cooker. The sandwich was lovely. I bought this for our camper, because of the weight, but it does so many different things, I won't need many other appliances. There's so many things you can cook in the small and the large machines. I've made a toasted sandwich in the small one. I can use the Large Egg Cup in the small cooker. As I mentioned before, it's large enough for one jumbo egg and topped off with about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of egg white to fill up the cup. Recipe suggestions: Look for Pie Iron recipes, Bisquik Impossible Pie recipes, Pudgie Pie recipes, Jaffle recipes. I use a spatula under the cup to remove it from the machine, as it's very hot. When I make plain eggs, I make 4 at once. The Large egg cups are the perfect size for Brownberry Sandwich Buns. The eggs, some cheese spread and the bun makes a tasty breakfast. I keep the eggs in a silicone container in the refrigerator for 2 or 3 days. The eggs are fine, and a treat for breakfast.
