Not good quality sound
For years I've listened to the radio via earphones on and off during the day, and at night to get to sleep, in combating noise sensitivity and tinnitus. I mostly listen to AM stations like Talksport and 5Live. After my ancient Sony walkman cassette/radio started to fall apart I looked for a replacement. I do have a digital radio but the signal isn't great here and it's more annoying to listen to with the speech cutting out like a bad comedy sketch.I tried 3 radios and all were pretty similar in style and operating functions. However I found this Aiwa model at around £10 more expensive than the Retekess TR107 and PRUNUS J-985, was the worst sound. Stations sounded very hissy and very tinny, like there was far too much treble. There was no bass boost, unlike the cheaper Retekess and it just wasn't satisfactory. It's surprising that a well known brand performed so badly in comparison and the unit is essentially the same, almost identical to the other two much cheaper ones.I returned the unit for a refund, which thankfully was a very simple and fast process. For those interested, the Retekess was the radio I've kept, with the best sound, for me.
