Link Aware Bluetooth Earmuffs, Ear Protection Headphones for Work

These are just what I was looking for. I use them primarily for mowing, so the ability to turn off the pass through sounds is perfect for activities where environmental noise is loud. But you can turn on and adjust the pass-thru volume for quieter situations where you are only looking to block sharp loud sounds like hammer strikes or gun shots. Bluetooth connectivity has been reliable. Sound quality for music is acceptable, but doesn’t have a lot of the lower bass frequencies (similar to 3M WorkTunes). Battery life is excellent, and construction durability is better than my WorkTunes (based on my previous purchase of the ISOtunes Link 2.0).

Afrer using this product for only 10 minutes while mowing I ditched them for my standard hearing protection. Mower seamed loud and bluetooth was unusable. Like others said, volume is restricted. This is also the case with other brands. After setting up a return I decided to give them a second chance. I use a chainsaw frequently and do some wood work. This is what I believe they are purposed for and they shi e here. I went from hating them and setting up a return to giving 5 stars! The volume will not completly overpower the chainsaw but that would be asking alot. I find them to be comfortable. I have used them all day without needing a charge and the Bluetooth connection is great, I have not lost a connection. I prefer these over 3M, which is probably the only close competitor for what its intended purpose is.

The noise reduction is unmatched. I'll give them credit for that. But these hurt my ears and head. Maybe my head is too large, though I don't have trouble buying hats. The headphones come with a cheap foam two piece insert to separate the bar from the top of your head. It fell apart at the glue joint right away and never helped much when it wasn't separated into two parts. I mitigate the head rubbing with a cotton wash cloth. This certainly doesn't improve your appearance, so remove the wash cloth before you go out of the shop. The next problem that is that it only shuts off when you press the button and shut it off. What I mean is that most headphones auto-shutoff when not used after some period of time. This unit just keeps going until the battery dies. When you plug it in to charge it and have left it on, it STAYS ON and remains on after you unplug it. So most often it isn't available when I need it until I charge it again. All that said, I wouldn't run my very loud machines in the wood shop without it. That frequently means a production delay. I could solve that by having two pairs, but at $150 I'm. I like them, they work well but for goodness sake a simple firmware update would make this a first class safety device. I consider this a fatal flaw.

I like over the ear in the shop. They stay on well. A little tight for me but they don't fall off as I move around. Did adjust by bending the band some. Decent sound quality and noise reduction.

I really should have believed the other reviewer who said these don't work in wood shops. If anything, his 1-star review was waaaaaaay too generous. Because these muffs are the absolute worst nightmare in my shop. And I reeeeally wanted to love these things. Sigh. First off, my dust collection system won't trigger the noise suppression, so that wonderfully loud blower sound is literally right in my ears because the AWARE tech won't suppress it. I also have a SawStop, which AWARE does try to block, but unfortunately the dust collection is on at the same time and get this HORRENDOUS popping sound in my ears. These are unusable. Sure, I could turn off the AWARE technology and they work fine, but then I've essentially just paid $140 for a set of $40 PROHEAR muffs. All in all, it feel like ISOtunes sold me a product that should still be in development. This is my second time purchasing one of their products, but after my ISOtunes pro died after 6 months I just don't trust this company to provide a valuable product that meets my needs.

Well made, but bluetooth volume is way too low, and "link aware" makes it more difficult to understand speech outside as it merely amplifies surrounding noise. Bluetooth phone quality is very poor. I could have made a better choice.

After one week in a CNC machine shop, I must say that I love these headphones. Our loudest time of the day in the shop can reach around 105-110 decibels. It blocks out compressed air noise whether you're blowing into a blind hole or out in the open. Co-workers used to have to say my name a few times to get my attention because I was competing with the noise in the shop in my headphones, now I'm not competing with the outside noise which in the end, saves hearing. ( -1 STAR ) If I were to make a suggestion for new users, use the box it came in to 'break-in' the unit as it will feel like a C-clamp on your head at first; but don't worry, they do get significantly more comfy with age. Manufacturer could make a more comfortable ear cushion to combat this. If I were to divide the price I paid for the headphones by the hours I've used them, it has cost me $3.75/hr so far and I am extremely satisfied with that considering they'll probably last another thousand hours yet.

They have great customer support and addressed my issues during my warranty. The band broke due to the amount of times I had to put the earmuffs on but Isotunes took care of me well. It fits pretty good with my safety glasses on and because of my windy environment it was comfortable. I noticed people had issues turning it off but all I had to do was hold the power button to turn it off and turn it back on. I do wish it was faster at charging but it was easier switching out the batteries.

It’s been a week since I got my headset! I’m working at an international truck dealership in the repair department, and the noise is always there idling, revving, hammering and air tools. I bought these headphones to protect my hearing, and they’re a great way to do it. I already have the Milwaukee earbuds, but they’re not as easy to use. You have to squish them and put them in one by one, and I find my ear gets itchy after a while. The Isotunes, on the other hand, are over-ear headphones, so there’s no uncomfortable foam in my ears. I’ve been wearing them every day for a week, listening to techno, metal and rock. The music is loud enough, but not so loud that it becomes a safety hazard. Plus, the “aware” mode is fantastic. I can hear conversations, but if you really want to hear them, you just have to pause the music. It’s easy enough to hear if someone wants your attention, and you can talk and hear without taking off the headset. The comfort is a bit of a downside; they’re tight and can get uncomfortable after a while, but I’d rather not get tinnitus, so I keep them on. Overall, I’d definitely get the Isotunes again if I ever break or lose them.

Great headset for working outdoors. Protected your ears whilst also having your Bluetooth music playing

I like these a lot. They're a little snug, so I begin to feel them when I've had them on for a while... Especially when I'm wearing safety glasses with them. But, the sound quality is great, the noise cancelling is very effective, and the battery life is enough for what I need. Plus, they're not easily identifiable from a distance as headphones. Working somewhere that prefers muffs, these are great because I can jam out until someone walks up and then I can hear conversation when the noise cancelling kicks in.
