Car Horn Compatible with Toyota,12V Waterproof Snail Horn High/Low Tone Kit, 110-125 DB(With A pair Horn Plug)

2020 Ford Edge is shipped with only 1 horn and it's the low tone one. It has a bracket for 2 horns but they only attached 1. It sounds awful and not very loud either, i consider it unsafe. Ford is being really cheap, maybe they saved 5 bucks? Shameful.Installation is fairly easy if you are a decent wrench. you must remove the left headlight assembly to gain access to the horn below. it is only a few screws and there are detailed videos on Youtube. Took about 20 minutes. These are much better horns, with a high note one and a low note one, they combine and are much louder. Very pleased.

Because the high tone horn connector faces the driver side, the car harness is too short to reach it. So, installation of the high tone horn requires that you cut off the car harness connector, splice on about 6 inches of extra wire, and reattach the connector.Additionally both horns require that you bend the mounting brackets from flat strips into Z shaped strips to move the horns toward the front of the car.Final not: I cannot figure out why, but if you tighten the nuts securing the horns to the mounting brackets too much, the horns will sound very weak. I had to mount them using silicone washers to get good sound out of the horns. For the life of me I cannot figure out why this happens - it isn't a grounding issue because I experimented with that and eliminated it as a cause. But perhaps there is some computer involvement in the horn blowing because the horns also beep in response to the remote locking of the doors.

I had the nose off of my Honda HRV anyway so it was easy to install these. They fit like OEM equipment, but I did need to rotate the mounting arm on the passenger side horn. The connector adapters fit perfectly. I sometimes honk the horn when traffic is light because it has such a satisfying sound. No more “meep-meep”.Replacing the horns from the bottom is something I would do only if I had done it before. Visibility is bad and it is hard enough removing and reinstalling those locking connectors even when you can see them.

The horns on my 8 year old van stopped working so I found these as a replacement. Installation is straight forward and the horns are designed to work on several brands of vehicles and the included adapter seems well thought out. Time will tell if it can handle the road salt used where I live. The tone of the horn is a little off. Not quite a full honk that was on my van and thankfully not a beep like a little car, but they will still work as a horn.

They worked great for the 2005 bmw 325ci once installed. No write cutting not splicing required. The adapters were a little difficult to put on the horns and the horn mounting brackets were not the same so had to replace the mounting brackets with the ones from the old horns.
