The articulated arm pretty much guarantees that the wire will never fray and short. And the heat detector built into the unit is a really good idea, though it’s difficult for me to imagine a situation where it would come into play. If I had an application for this product where I was the one specifying what was being used, I’d give the client the option of using this unit. If it were for myself I don’t think I would use it due to his expensive it is. The unit was easy to install and one worry I had was that the articulating arm carrying the power cord would mess with the soft-close mechanism on the drawer guides which was not the case. We recommend a minimum interior drawer box height of 3" to make sure there is enough drawer box material over the receptacle box once the cut out is made.
