Man these speakers put out excellent sound and quality. And they weren't hard to wire into the stereo in my 1992 Jeep Wrangler. With the top off, They power my tunes without it getting distorted. I had previously bought a pair of 5x7 and had them in a Mazda Miata MX5. I'd sold that car and pulled the speakers, because I knew they worked like a charm. (They will be going in for the front speakers on the Wrangler to make it a matching set). Would buy again.

I hooked these up to an MTX TC2002, it's rated at 50x2 rms at 4 ohms, or 100x2 peak, granted the charge sheet that came with the amp showed it tested a little higher, but within 5 minutes of hooking these speakers up they were toast. RIDICULOUS!!!! These things say they are 300W peak each and they are not even close. Also looks like a generic speaker with a Boss Audio sticker slapped on, but thats probably why they are 22 bucks.... I'd return them but it's not worth the gas to the post office and the shipping charges...

Pros: These speakers sound great when they work. You can hear every sound crystal clear. Your highs, mids, lows, everything. They were only 30 bucks when I got them from amazon, so you can't beat that! Oh and amazon is the only place I've found that still has return shipping for free so I love it!!! Cons: When I got the speakers, it looked like they were used. The tops were scratched up and had fingerprints all over them, but everything else looked untouched. Probably like that from the factory. Another thing is that after installing them, one of the speakers was possibly blown out. You could hear it rattle and crackle at low to mid volume, but at high it goes away. I tried cranking it all the way up to possibly fix a stuck coil as I've heard this can fix it but that didn't help. So I had to send it back and I'm awaiting a second pair. Just glad amazon covers shipping or I would have just bought another pair. Other Thoughts: I put these into a 2001 cavalier with a base system, so it will be quite a pain to put these in if you have one. You have to first take off all the trim around the back of the rear doors if you have them, then you have to pull the cover up, and out to get to your speakers. After that, cut and splice or solder your ends after finding which wires go where with a wiring diagram, then pretty much force these speakers into the plastic frame that's slightly to small for some reason. The final task you have to do is cut holes in the top piece so your new speakers will fit through, then find screws that will fit from lowes as well as making sure they are long enough/not to long to go through the speaker cover, the top piece, and the speaker frame without hitting the metal plate. About an 1 1/2 will do it. After all that, you can put it back together. Now as far as why Chevy decided to do this stupid crap I have no idea, besides the fact that they don't want you doing anything with your car anymore except taking it to a dealership. I really love the old way of just dropping them out from in the trunk. But still, its worth doing this if you wanna save money. If not, just fork out the cash to get a "professional" to do it.

I love these speakers. I put them in my 1999 Jeep and they sound awesome! I love the red color, you can even see it through the door! The bass is good quality with my stock stereo. I am very satisfied with this purchase. They are a bit too big circumference wise to fit all the way in my doors but they fit just fine. Apparently the spot for the speakers on the Jeep is not a true 5X9.
