Perfex Adjustable Pepper Grinder Mill, Made in France, High-Carbon Steel Mechanism, 4.5-Inches

I took ages to research before I bought this pepper mill and I have to say it is the most perfect mill it is robustly made and works very smoothly . When filling it with pepper it is so easy. I love it also it is very vintage looking . The handle works really well and causes no stiffness or problems and I have no problems when grinding pepper onto food on stove the steam does not stop it working smoothly. Very very good product expensive but it works and it feels so robust i think it will last for a very long time to come. I am so pleased with purchase. If you are looking for a good quality pepper mill that works this is the one to buy. Fabulous.

This is our second Perfex pepper grinder. The first, now over 50 years old, is of an identical design and still works perfectly. We have every expectation that both the first and second will be serving our grandchildren in another 50 years. The simple design makes the grinder easy to fill and adjust. The crank handle facilitates rapid grinding. This is an example of great functional engineering resulting in a beautiful product

Do Not Buy It!!!the grinding mechanism was redesign and does not grind pepper kernels! and to make things worse has this squeaky high pitch annoying sound that makes you regret you bought it, dont make my mistake. I got and old one at Goodwill store and it works great, saw "like new", it was like new, nice and slick, good price but dosent grind, noting, zero , zilch, nuda, don't waste your dollers.

I have both salt and pepper, both are excellent quality, and so far have performed flawlessly, for at least two years of everyday use. I've had one set for four years. I have a set for my home, and now my vacation home. Highly recommend them both...or choose the one you would use the most, and see if you would like to try the other as well. They are a little expensive for most, but I really like them both.

I received the Perfex 4-1/2 Inch Pepper Mill with no paperwork or written material regarding the product and, at the price paid for the item, found it less than satisfactory as a grinder compared to others at a lower price. The fact that is made of solid aluminum may justify the price since it may last longer than other grinders but that said, you can buy 2 or 3 other brand grinders that would perform as well or better than this product. Also, the size is too small for handling (I have large hands) and find that turning the handle for grinding awkward and at times, just plain difficult. Also, the grinding mechanism is not as smooth as I would have imagined and catches and more force than necessary (I feel) must be used to turn the handle. Overall, this product was not what I had imagined to be and would not recommend buying it at such a high price. There are other satisfactory pepper grinders available that would suffice in everyday kitchen and cooking use.

Love the look, easy to use, holds a lot of peppercorns, but if you're looking for the ability to grind pepper to a fine consistency, this isn't for you. I happen to like semi-coarse to coarse grind, so it's perfect for me. Has lasted for quite a while and works perfectly.

I cook a lot and enjoy trying new recipes, many of which call for freshly ground pepper. The Perfex grinds quickly and easily and has lasted for years. I love to gift them to other cooks!

This is a traditional French pepper mill, simple and functional. No push button or auto-grind! One can adjust the coarseness by manipulating the screw at the bottom. These mills last forever.

Absolutely useless. Could just about manage to grind ground pepper - on a good day.

Love it. The new purchase is "semi-replacing" the same model that we received 26 years ago as a wedding gift. We use huge amounts of pepper for grilling and everyday cooking making this just about the most heavily used tool in our kitchen. These pepper mills last almost forever due to their high quality build. We are only semi-replacing the 26 year-old one now because we are afraid it might "eventually" fail. You can fully adjust the coarseness of the grind by simply dialing the nut on the bottom of the pepper mill. While expensive, this pepper mill will last decades.

A delightful mill, heavy and well made it's a great addition to our home. It's a wee bit pricey but the quality is obvious. We also bought the matching salt mill, which carries the same five star review from us.

I purchased this item as a gift. It is a fairly expensive pepper mill (150.00). It worked for a couple of months, then stopped working. There is no option to return as the window for returns has passed. It is also beyond repair, as the entire mechanism is faulty. I have this exact pepper mill which I purchased 30 years ago. I am left to wonder about the quality control of their current product. I definitely do not recommend purchasing this pepper mill from this seller.

Sounded good, but does not grind evenly. To get an even grind, I have to pass the pepper a second time.
