The Origin Effects Cali76 Compact Deluxe is an 1176-style studio-grade FET compressor, featuring high-current, low-noise, discrete Class-A circuitry and a dedicated parallel compression control… all contained in one compact, stompbox-sized package! Origin Effects have managed to build all of the functionality from their flagship Cali76 Standard into this little marvel – and also added the much-requested parallel mix control previously only found on their limited editions. Separate controls for Attack, Release and Ratio let you precisely tailor your tone, from transparent transient control to flat-out limiting and monster sustain. Meanwhile, the elegant jewel lamp functions as an intuitive three-color gain reduction meter.

Awesome but a bit noisy
It is my first compressor pedal, but I'm really happy to use it. It sounds without any issues on clean. But when I'm playing with high gain, Some noises arrived. But I think I understand why: the thing is that compressor works a bit like a saturator and the nice coming only if there a really silent sound or guitar doesn't play at all, so compressor makes good saturation, but it trying to make the sound louder even when I don't need it. I think some gate pedals can help me

The Compressor Pedal that shows you what good compression can do...
Lets be honest, some people might have never grasped what a compressor pedal can do for you, even if you've owned one before. This pedal delivers, and then some. The depth and stability of your notes will become ever present. Sustain for days.Controls on this thing actually do something. With Dry/Attack/Input levels doing so much of the heavy lifting. Ratio allows you to really control the amount of compression so well. I use this at the end of my pedal chain, after my distortion and sub. The thing really makes your tone smoothed over and complete. And for all of those wondering if it is "as good" or has the magic of the big boi $700 version, yes it is. I would suggest using 18v instead of a regular 9v power supply, as it gets indistinguishable from the big daddy version.

You get what you pay for!
Amazing pedal, its quiet and built very well. I personally just wish that the light turns red when compression works on and not the way around. Its overpriced for a compressor but its the best I have ever tried.

Excellent Compressor with it's own sound vs. the original big box.
I first off want to say that I love this compressor because the quality of build, and the sound it produces. I really wish people wouldn't say that it's exactly like the big Cali76, just in a smaller box. That is not true. It's extremely high quality compression but the bigger Cali76 sounds a tad bit more transparent and airy. This does have it's own advantage though with the DRY mix knob. It's a unique difference that means that you should do as I do, and buy them all so that you can use whatever fits your mood from day to day.

Best compressor pedal I have tried out of at least ...
Best compressor pedal I have tried out of at least six or seven others which I will not embarrass by naming them. This is the closest thing to an analogue, recording studio outboard compressor that I have heard in a compact pedal form. Absolutely silent (no "breathing" at reasonable settings) transparent and powerful. A quality bit of gear for sure. Just get one, place it as the first pedal in your chain, set it to your liking, turn it on and leave it on. You will be very happy, I'm sure.

find something else.
I was really excited to get this pedal but was quite disappointed when it arrived. It was quite noisy. I like the preamp in it however the compressor takes out high end frequencies. My rig sounded better without it. Also, a brand new pedal and one of the knobs was already scratchy.I returned it.

Pedal stopped working after 2 months.
Pedal was working just fine every day for about 2 months until, in the middle of a Little Wing solo, it died ... the red light went out, no sound signal passed through. Likely a faulty unit, possibly the pedal’s reaction to a poor Hendrix rendition. Either way I’m pursuing a replacement pedal ... let’s see how that goes.Update (10 Dec 2017). Chicago Music Exchange will take the pedal back and refund me, which is good of them especially as the return period had apparently expired. I don’t yet know whether or not I’ll get another one ... it depends what went wrong with this one and how likely it is to happen again.

Worth every penny
Haven't explored it too deeply but I needed Gilmouresque tone for a cover of Shine on you Crazy Diamond pt I-IV. With a clean sound on the Strat and the Cali76 I felt like I was as close as I could possibly get. I tried two other compressors before the Cali76 (Boss, MXR) and were to harsh. This is like butter
