A Great Phone for Seniors, this being my 3rd Panasonic, an easy set up for me. Great Value -Great Features-
Great so far, everything seems to work, have not used all 4 headsets yet. But all lit up and rang. Easiest of Panasonic Phones set up ever, almost took me as long to remove stuff from box, in order to preserve cardboard packing frame, in case of return. But in all seriousness within 15, 20 minutes I was entering numbers in phone list.As a Senior Citizen ? , I like the large bright display and that everything is in large print. The phone is laid out well and fits hand nicely, I have had a number of Panasonic phones all have been durable and delivered a long service life. But this one is something I' m excited about, the features are many and they so far are easy to locate on menu and set up.Not in my time of set up, I installed the phone list from my old set of Panasonics, and switched over a few call block #'s, set initial ring settings and got the phone up and operating. I did not set up Cell Phone as I am considering switching phones or get into some other features I may or may not use. This is a nice system without even counting the bonus feature of merging your Bluetooth Cell into the system Good value they last Panasonic a 3 Handset lasted about 8 years. As I am not making as many calls I expect this to last a lifetime. So for now 5 Stars, I don't usually give this rating on initial set up, but knowing Panasonic Phones and Amazon, THIS IS MY BUY OF YEAR. As always if something changes I will edit this.Note, when you see negative reviews on Panasonic systems and Amazon consider this that Amazon has many sellers and many people handling returns and so on . I have been an Amazon customer for over a decade, I have bitten the bullet on a few small things. But over all Amazon has been reliable as the best of USA retailers. I am a Senior on a tight budget, I don't have time for people who don't back up what they sell.If this review helpful please say so, I do not take free or discounted product's for my review's. I am a Panasonic Brand customer on things I use every day, my TV's, phones and blood pressure machine. The phones, one of the TV's and blood pressure machine all purchased from Amazon

Fantastic phones from a very reliable manufacturer.
I purchased this new KX-TGE475S cordless phone kit to replace a 12 year old Panasonic KX-TG5634 kit that finally died (It would lose signal with the base frequently).I'm from Canada and after carefully looking at all the offerings from Panasonic Canada, I've come to the conclusion that our Canadian selection is pitiful and overpriced. This KX-TGE47 series from Panasonic USA comes in with more features at a lower price point than anything comparable in Canada. For instance, features like Link2Cell, Bluetooth (Phonebook Transfer, Headset), Power Back-Up Operation, Baby Monitor, and a whopping 5 handsets are all included with the American TGE47 series but missing from the similarly priced Canadian KX-TGD394 model. This TGE47 kit arrives in a very small box but when you unpack everything, you'd be surprised how many pieces they managed to squeeze in there. The handsets are top notch and uses regular NiMh AAA batteries, which will make replacing the batteries a snap as they are easily sourced. Buttons are nice and big, and text is very big and clear as well. It's almost like the phone is engineered to be elder-friendly or drunk-friendly. The base is a bit lightweight comparing to the unit it replaced but overall, the fit and finish is very good. Voice calls are very clear but the volume is decent. However, in speakerphone mode, the volume does not get very loud even at max volume. I can see this being an issue in noisier environments. I'm also impressed with the improved range of 1.9GHz DECT 6.0 versus my old 5.8GHz "Gigarange" set.Feature-wise, the Call Block button is an excellent feature allowing you to block telemarketers with ease. Intercom mode is easier to use than ever, as you can name all handsets and find which handset you want to dial by name. Power Backup Operation is another feature I really like. In the event the Base unit loses power, normally your entire phone system goes dead. With this model, it actually uses the handset as a battery backup when the base loses utility power. As long as the handset is attached to the base, your other handsets will still be able to make calls even when the power goes out. Bluetooth phone book transfer is also great, and saves alot of time trying to enter each contact into the phone book. Lastly, talking Caller ID is an amazing feature. I love knowing who is calling me as I'm walking towards my phone, versus just senseless ringing.Overall, this product deserves maximum stars. It performs well, is feature laden, and it's solidly made. If my old Panasonic set can be used as any indicator of reliability, I have no doubt this one will last just as long.

Works as Advertised
I upgraded from a similar Panasonic model which lasted some ten years. As an elderly couple living in a duplex apartment, the intercom feature was important, and it was surprising how few quality cordless home phone systems have this feature. This model has a button for call blocking; when you get a robocall, just hit the button and the number calling is stored and permanently blocked (you can undo it if you've made a mistake). It can be paired with up to two cell phones, but I do not want to. All the basic features worked upon an initial and quick setup. But many features require intensive study of the manual. My only complaint is that one cannot import the phonebook from a previous Panasonic model (you can import from a cell phone if you spend an hour with the manual); Panasonic missed a feature that would promote brand loyalty. Overall, a quality system with which I am quite satisfied.
