BruntonEcho - Pocket Scope Monocular (7x18)

Bought this for hubby for impromptu bird spotting whilst on long walks. He likes it being light weight and pretty good quality.

A small package that is surprisingly effective. Good optics for the price, very light weight and easy to carry/ use. Would buy again.

Ich habe das Fernröhrchen vor allem beruflich für das Heranzoomen entfernter "großer Monitore" bestellt. Es kommt vor, dass auf die Schnelle hochauflösende Terminalinhalte in Besprechungsräumen geboten werden, die schon aus 3m Abstand nicht mehr lesbar sind und erst recht nicht aus 8m Abstand. Und trotz kleinem Bild kann ich das Teilchen gerade dafür gut verwenden.Der Nahbereich geht tatsächlich bis auf ca. 35cm heran, als etwas mehr als die Länge einer DIN A4-Seite. Das ist sehr erstaunlich! Ich habe auch das Huntington 6x30 Monokular / Teleskop / Fernglas, 129m/1000m (AXT1869 Military Green DE) erstanden, dort ist der wirklich scharfe Nahbereich bei 20m zu Ende. Das ist dann also wirklich ein "Fern-"Glas. Demnach ist dieser Nahbereich bei dem Brunton definitiv eine Besonderheit.Was die Bildqualität betrifft so fand ich persönlich, dass entweder die Mitte bis zu einem Drittel des Radius scharf ist, oder der Rand ohne die Mitte. Aber die volle Schärfe über das ganze Bildfeld schaffe ich eigentlich nie. Ich helfe mir damit, dass ich eher den Randbereich bei 70% des Radius scharf stelle und so einigermaßen von Rand bis auf 30% des Radius scharf sehen kann. Wenn Buchstaben ausgerechnet dann in der Mitte zu liegen kommen, reicht ein kleiner Schwenk.Dafür würde ich einen halben Stern abziehen, und das fällt aus Rundungsgründen dann wieder weg.Ergebnis sind also 5 Sterne.Die Maße sind tatsächlich erstaunlich: Länge 80mm, Durchmesser 25mm am Okular und 30mm am Objektiv.Es passt damit bequem in die Handtasche.

I've been looking for good monocular for a long time because its half (or less) the weight of binoculars and will do the same work.Most monoculars I've looked at are significantly cheaper in quality than similar binoculars and so with great pleasure I ran across this one.It has clear image, no fogging to date (2 weeks ago it was snowing, and now its pouring rain), perfect for my needs magnification.My only complaint is that its exit pupil is about 3mm, and its focusing can be a bit touchy.All in all its the best monocular I've owned.

The optics are impressive for the price. It is light and compact so it can be taken anywhere and you will on all your adventures because when it come down to the choice of lugging big binoculars or the little pocket scope, it's a no-brainier.Regards
