Purpose is 100% skimming the pool floor - max depth 6' 6", not for skimming the water surface - we have a smaller, easier to handle, light weight scoop for this. PRODUCT PROS - Fitted our existing aluminium pole. - Very easy to detach from the pole for emptying. - Basket fabric is strong and has tab that makes it easy to invert basket to empty. - Basket fabric weave hole size is good - captures ~90% of debris. - Skimming lip is angled correctly relative to pool floor. - Light weight suited to older users. PRODUCT CONS - Frame that basket hangs on is relatively thin plastic. - The frame clips are therefore likely to have a limited life. - Frame will last longer if protected from extreme heat and sunlight. - Skimmer lip would be better if 1-2 inches wider. SUMMARY OK value for money. Careful use and storage will extend product life.
