Black & Decker RC-065-P Spool Cover for GH700/GH710 and GH750 GrassHog String Trimmers

This fit my trimmer really well . It was easy to install the size was correct it feed the live as the old one . It v was easy o install .

My trimmer continues to work great after several years now. I had thought I could run to my local big box store to get a new spool cover when mine finally wore out, but they no longer carry these. I was very fortunate to find this online, it's better to pay a few bucks and keep using my trimmer than be forced to buy a new one due to a broken lower cost part.This is an exact replacement unit, it fits my Grasshog GH7000 exactly. Notice that this is the cover only and does not include a spool to wind your line on, you need to keep the spool you have been using and mount it on this spool cover. When you are looking at these units, there is a similar one that only has one hole on the side for the line to exit, this is the double line unit which is what I needed. This version was slightly harder to find.I hadn't realized how worn our my previous spool was until it literally exploded one day while spinning. Thankfully this unit is available, and again I'm very happy with it. You might consider buying 2 of these which is what I did so that next time I'll have my spare on hand.5 stars, works great and extends the life of a nice trimmer.

It’s a Black and Decker replacement part for a Black and Decker. It fits and it works. Tried others, failed after one use.

At first the cap was tight and didn’t quite slide in place. I gave it a light tap with a mallet and it popped in place. Used the Weedwacker a few times now, works good. A less expensive alternative to buying a new weedwacker. Worth it!

This item is a perfect fit replacement item for the dual line Black and Decker trimmer. The quality of the plastic is as good if not better than the original. There are no quality differences.One thing to note: The trimmer requires a specific diameter trimmer line. If you load the spools with a larger or square third party line you may have difficulty fitting it through the spool cover and the self feed might not work. We have found that apparent issues with the cover are actually problems with incorrect line or incorrect feed direction of the dual line spool.

The short version: While the price is right, the fit is poor. If you're a casual user of the product that this piece fits onto, this is probably a suitable purchase. But, if you're a frequent user or professional, spend the extra money and get a manufacturer's replacement as this piece will waste a ton of your time due to the difficult/tight fit!The long (more detailed version): If you reference the picture, the Yellow arrow is the small tab that broke and necessitated the need for a replacement - in our case, we were replacing the original part.Again referencing the picture, the Blue arrows indicate where the cap snaps onto the end of your weed eater. With this replacement it is difficult to attach smoothly and easily. It can be done, but you have to jam it on and smack it with your hand (or on the ground) to get it to completely click into place. With the original, this process was seamless and easily done.Still referencing the picture, the Red arrow indicates where the spool wire will come out (on this model, this occurs on both sides). These openings are so tight that you have to wrench down on the wire incredibly hard to get it to finally pop into place. You might be saying, "Well why don't you just feed it through the hole instead?" Well, I tried that and it is equally maddening (not to mention not how it's originally designed). Again, with the original, this process was seamless and easily done.Lastly, the post on the middle (indicated by a Green arrow in the picture) is where the line spool fits over and clicks into place. It was super easy and quick to remove the spools from the original post, but not the case with this replacement. Also, once you manage to finally get the spool of wire to click down onto the post, it is even more difficult to get it back off.We have only had the product for a short time so I cannot speak to its durability yet.NOTE: I am a 46 year old man in decent shape so none of the above difficulties can be attributed to my age or fitness level - it is all purely product quality.
