Great cards
I got this set and the "picture words" set from the same seller. I'm happy to report there are no repeat words between the two. These cards are thick enough to withstand use.The major categories are colors, animals, objects, shapes, and numbers. One side is just the word and the other is the word with the picture. My toddler loves "reading" (pointing at words and making up sounds) so we sit down daily to read these words and the pictures they come with.Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I think actual pictures (like these cards) will teach better than stylized cartoons at this age.The cons: there's extra writing (item numbers? And copyright) written on the word-side, which is a little ugly. The pictures are not the highest quality but I think 99% of them will get the point across.

Best cards out there
I haven't found better cards yet. These are durable, easy to handle, and they have real pictures with the word PLUS the word on the back. My 1 year old son showed an interest in flash cards and I have discovered that these are an easy way to build a simple "book" - just punch a hole in the corners and put them on a ring. The cards are durable enough to let him handle them and flip through as he "reads". The price is unbeatable for this product. I only wish Amazon carried more of the Trend Enterprises cards so that I could add them to our collection.

It is a nice variety.
Ok, so why 4 and not 5 stars? These are great cards- really, you should buy them. But I think that its redundant and unnecessary to have the word on the front AND also the back of the cards. Couldn't this space be used for more image space? However, that aside, my chief complaint is there is a picture of a pot, a cooking pot and it is labeled as a pan. A pan is not a pot. There is also an antiquated 3 1/2 inch computer disk and I think it would be more appropriate to have a CD rom or DVD as a disc, instead of a disk. The number cards are for the most part, ok. However the number 1 looks like the letter "I" because of the font chosen. I'm glad there is a telephone, land line style, but its cordless. Might have been nice to include two images, one corded and one cordless. Most children's toy phones are the corded type. A smart phone might have been nice to include as a comparison. The tiger picture seems muted, the color is not like the other pictures, it is subdued by comparison to the others. It also almost has a square shape to the picture but the other pictures are better displayed. The door, to be honest looks like a long window. Its paneled glass and this can be confusing for some children. The pear, sorta looks like a mango. While yes, grapes can be green, it would be nice to have had purple colored grapes. The pen, almost looks like a mechanical pencil.Overall, my only real complaints are the pot being called a pan and the inclusion of a disk and not a Cd rom disc or a DVD disc. Overall, I recommend you buy these- there is a nice variety.

Love these cards!
Love these cards! Crystal clear photos that focus on the subject alone with little to no background that could distract or confuse your child as to what they're suppose to learn. Some cards and apps for example use a colored shape and use it as dual learning saying triangle and green. That's just confusing for little ones and these don't do that! I use these for my baby and he stares intently at the picture! Great buy! Note: I bought the two boxes in my picture separately.

Flash cards
I bought the cards to encourage a two you old to speak. She understands everything you say and responds accordingly, but she was being a little lazy about speaking herself. She loves the cards and brings them to her twin brothers(they're seven)or myself several times a day to review. She gets excited every time we respond with great praise when she says a word. I've used my paint shop pro program to add a few cards with familiar family faces and names to her pile. After a few short weeks with these cards she's exceeded all expectations with her speech. She jabbers constantly now and her vocabulary continues to grow daily. I think she'll be reading before she's four.
