Why did you pick this product vs others?: I liked the fact this stool is not cumbersome. No five legs, no wheels, no back support, just the round seat with three legs. Very easy to put together, comes with all parts and tools so you don't need anything else, seems to be very well made, we'll see how long it lasts. Very east to adjust up and down by rotating the seat. The adjusting metal screw appears to be very strong, no worries here. Once you buy a round snug cushion (available at Amazon) it is very comfortable. The design is great, as I mentioned it is very unobtrusive, easy to get on and easy to get off, excellent rotation. Very light and you can easily place it under the the table. If you will be drafting all day long then I recommend you get a high chair with all the bells and whistles. This stool is convenient for quick projects or if you need to be on and off constantly. I recommend it.

First semi-comfortable seat I could find for drafting, or for doing almost anything else from a sitting position, since it's flat, sturdy, and height-adjustable. The first one started wobbling after about a year of daily use. The wobbling began where the central metal rod had been fused to the circular metal plate as one piece. Fortunately--after I'd gotten another of these stools in the beech color and then read the enclosed Meeden product warranty--their customer service team responded to my e-mail within a few days. The agent was friendly and accommodating, offering a whole new stool when the replacement part I'd needed wasn't available. It came within a week of my confirming that I wanted it. The photos show the broken walnut stool being used as a coffee table and footrest (not sure if I'll end up keeping it for that or not), the newer beech stool, and the replacement walnut stool with the lifetime warranty. I wish there were also a version of this with height-adjustable armrests and a 90-degree, upright backrest. This minimal stool is useful for many things, though, and can fit into narrow spaces thanks to the tripod-style legs.

The stool itself is well made, except in my case unusable because one of the screws will not tighten as it is shorter and the nut is defective [machined at an angle]. These screws are what stabilizes the stool so once built with the defective screw assembly it will be unstable and unusable. I paid $70 for what I thought would be a quality piece of furniture but, alas, a single screw assembly prooved me wrong. Would be great if I could get a replacement screw and nut.

This stool is sturdy, stylish, and super comfortable. The adjustable height feature is perfect for working at different desks or easels, and the wooden design adds a touch of class to my studio. Assembly was quick and easy, taking just a few minutes. Highly recommend it for artists or anyone needing a versatile stool.

Nice Very low profile. Easily puts away. Using it as my daily for desk/computer work. Hurts a bit but that’s ok because it makes me get up every hour. Can adjust height. Was hoping it would look more rustic though.

The stool was easy to assemble..as long as you've done stuff like this before. It adjusts up and down with ease and it's very sturdy and looks nice. I'm very happy with it and the price.

EDIT: after 17 months of use it has majorly cracked, squeaks, rocks and feels bad. My unopened boxes of soylent provide better cushion and function than this ------ Ordered this in July and it cracked 8 months later. Originally loved the design and the wood but it's always been slightly wobbly and too sharp around the edge for constant sitting like I need for work. It would swivel down when not sat on, and produce endless wood dust for the first few months. But it is fun to rest a leg on, and it has good height adjustments. and I wish the edge of the seat was smoother. For reference I am 110 lbs and It doesn't feel 100% supportive
