The Mepra Dolce Vita place setting is remarkable. It is heavyweight, with a plain but beautiful pattern. I wished to see this place setting for one reason...to learn how it could command such a high cost/place setting. It is quite likely that our entire 40 piece flatware set (service for 8) costs less than this one place setting.The Mepra Dolce Vita would set a beautiful table, without doubt. I know that in this lifetime I will never be able to afford anything of this quality, and I do now understand the cost of the setting. If you can afford this...buy it...it is superb.

This five-piece “Dolce Vita” (The Good Life) place setting from Mepra is Made in Italy and offers a little extra elegance to your table. The exquisite quality of Mepra flatware is just superb. You’ll be hard-press to bend any piece. Though it’s larger than most U.S. flatware (the dinner knife is 9.5” and the dinner fork 8.25”) it really makes a statement on your table.Though I really like the “fluted” ends of this flatware. . If a “rounded” end will work for you, then you might also have a look at the Brescia design. I really like it a lot and it’s currently less than half the price of the “Dolce Vita” pattern. I'll be honest. I was suspicious when I saw this price-point. Mepra is not a familiar brand to me although according to other reviews it is quite prestigious. This quality of this silverware confirms that and I fear I am now ruined for regular (lower price silverware forever). The five piece set includes a knife, two forks and two spoons. The knife has nice, sharp serrations. The spoons have the narrower teaspoon style spoon shape. The forks have long, finely-pointed tines. Each piece is durable but light-weight to it and a beautiful sheen from the stainless steel. The ends of the silverware are pleasingly shaped as well making each utensil feel like a piece of art. Lovely.

These is a beautiful, heavy weight elegant set of utensils. Each piece is balanced to perfection and they feel like high quality stainless steel in my hands.This setting is understated, classic and elegant. It is perfect for all meals and the utensils are sized just right for us...nothing of a bizarre size in this set.The finish is a very polished stainless steel and while I was worried about fingerprints or water droplets from the dishwasher, neither have been issues for us at all! They have been consistently perfect looking straight out of the dishwasher!
