Sturdy and secure grip!
I purchased these so I may max out on my deadlifts. I am a female and weigh 120 lbs. I find that when I deadlift anything over 150 lbs, my grip starts to give out so I purchased these straps to do heavier lifts. I have used other straps before and so far these are by far my favorite straps! These give me amazing grip and allow me to successfully hold onto the barbell till the end of my set. In this photo I am doing a set of 6 reps at 185 lbs. These straps are very easy to wrap around the barbell and feel sturdy. I have been using them for a about a year now and currently use them twice a week for deadlifts. As of now, they are working just as great as when I first purchased them and love them!

Exceeded my Expectations!
Update: ordered these things last April and it's noise February. Lifted with these straps pretty regular at weights ranging from 325# to 500#. There are no stress tears or stitch wear. They are holding up well. I highly recommend them.This is my first pair of lifting straps. I have arthritis in my fingers and it affects my grip. I have not been able to reach my full potential on deadlifts and other pulls because of this. I watched some videos and read some reviews to gain knowledge on straps, hooks, etc. I chose these straps because the price was comparable to other straps but were made of suede leather instead of nylon. I felt the leather would get a better bite on the bar than nylon, but remember that this is the only ones I've owned so I nothing to compare it to.Now to the product. I was right that the suede would "bite" and grip the bar well. My previous deadlift without straps was less than 300# because of my grip. I was not feeling the lift because it I could lift a lot more. With my first use of the straps I lifted a max of 575# (bear in mind that this was a lift on a rack with the bar about 18" off of the floor). The straps didn't make me lift more. The straps assisted my grip and allowed me to maximize my potential. I was amazed at how much relief my arthritic grip received using lifting straps.At 575# the straps did not dig into my hands and wrists. The padding was more than sufficient and the suede held up and didn't "cinch" on my hands. The stitching didn't pop or pull and seems to be durable. The suede straps were easily tightened on the bar by using a "motorcycle throttle" motion to take out the slack. They were also of sufficient length. I read prior comments that complained of the strap length being too long. If used properly I don't think should be an issue.Also these guys offer a lifetime warranty on their stuff. I didn't notice that before I ordered so that was just a special bonus when I got them.I'll have to update my post here in a couple of months to let you know durable they actually are seeing as how I've only used them a couple of times now.

Love these
I really like these straps. I’ve owned the 2mm straps for about 2 years and they have held up great, but i decided to try the 3mm to leave at my gym to see if there was any difference. I personally like the thicker ones more, very comfortable and feel strong. I’ve lifted 400+ with these for a few workouts and they have no signs of wear. If I had one complaint it is that they are so long, but I’m kind of scared to trim them back, I might try that with my old pair. Other then that they are great, love this company and their products are solid.

Lifting straps
At first, these straps feel quite comfortable. A lot more than the old school straps Ive been using for years. I was pretty excited to use them but that didnt last long. After doing a few heavy sets, I realized how annoying it was having them so long. Then, the heavier the weights got, the more “give” they had. I like to twist the straps to get a good tight lock before the lift but after a few reps, they arent as tight from stretching. I also noticed after a few sets that the knurling on the grips was wearing the grips and leaving black dust like material all over my hands. That part may be because they are new and need worn in but traditional nylon straps dont do that. Lastly, doing power shrugs with 385lbs made it feel like the straps were going to tear. They didnt, but I want confidence in my straps when the weight starts getting high. I plan on spending the extra money to get cobra straps ASAP because I dont like any give when lifting heavy. I feel like these were made to look cool and feel good rather than do hard work.

2mm = OK. 3mm = TOUGH!
I received the 2mm lifting straps and used them about 10 times. I’m not a crazy power lifter, but these come in handy when I’m going heavy on back days and my grip is fatiguing before my back muscles. The 2mm straps did their job, up until the ripped halfway through a T-Bar row set.I emailed Dark Iron Fitness and they sent me a replacement right away, and even upgraded to 3mm at no cost! Normally, I would count this as a loss, and leave a bad review for a horrible product. Dark Iron Fitness as a company deserves all 5 stars. Not only were they apologetic, but they shipped me an upgraded replacement in 2 days. Top notch company. I’ll be ordering more from them soon.

I tried the weighted belt and loved it and decided I should try their straps
I tried the weighted belt and loved it and decided I should try their straps. I have very small wrists so I was worried about how they would fit. At first the leather was not very soft and was not ucomfortable. I felt regret but didn’t bring any others so I continued to use them. By the end of the workout I had broken them in and they felt great. I was easily wrapping dumb bells and bars comfortably. The suede leather is double layered with tons of stitching to keep it secured. Without straps I was unable to fully develop certain muscles as my grip strength would give out before the targeted muscle group. Now I can complete full sets and get that great burn in my back, bi’s, and traps that I used too. The nylon straps I had were awful and very rough on my skin, the leather gives plenty of grip without ripping into my wrists with it’s added padding. I highly recommend these especially for the price considering how much the local stores are charging for an inferior version of this product.
