These are a nice assortment of tips and come in a sturdy case.

Ateco is definitely one of the gold standards of piping tips. These are nice with a nice variety of shapes, my only complaint would be that they were much smaller than I expected but that was due to my inattention.

I am new at trying to decorate cakes, but this kit seemed to be a very good value for the cost.

The media could not be loaded. I have bought Ateco tips in the past from a local baking store and loved them. Saw this pack on Amazon and immediately knew this would have all the tips I could ever need. But upon opening the 1 box from UPS that they decided to ship everything in and pulling out the tips, I saw that the case was completely cracked. I bought this because I am a home baker and don't have much space and have a young daughter so I NEED THE CASE.Amazon was very accommodating and shipped me a new set of tips for the damaged ones at no cost to me. I would buy from them again. Was a little disappointed by the size of the actual tips (but I learned that these are perfect for cupcakes, cookies and smaller details on a cake) and you will need a small brush to clean them. The set does come with 4 larger tips and 2 flower nails. However, I was able to create some pretty buttercream flowers (from the flower nail that Ateco provided which was a perfect size for cakes) for my larger cakes and ruffles and decorate to my heart's content, with very little experience... so I recommend these Ateco tips highly!!! Yes, I would recommend these to a friend or family member!! Yes, I would buy from them again!! In fact, I own the Ateco revolving cake stand and plan on buying the large Ateco tip set from Amazon for my cake decorating!

Do you NEED this set to do a basic birthday cake/dessert? Nope. A couple different sized star and round tips and you're good to go. Do you want to start getting fancy, wow your friends, or use up a whole afternoon figuring out what each tip does? Then this is the set for you! I owned the wilton master set-but after a move half had fallen out of the case and gotten lost...After buying these as a b-day gift for my sister(& subsequently helping her make her own cake with them :) It renewed my interest in cake decorating so I bought myself a set. LOVE them! Has a few different tips in it that Wilton didn't include which I found helpful (esp. the cupcake filler tip) Case isn't all that but then again neither was the old wilton case. As far as people not liking detailed instructions as to what tips do what-If you already know what you're doing, you don't need it... If you are a beginner- that's what a good cake decorating book or class will teach you(or a quick internet search). Any beginner decorating course will teach you the importance of not just the tip, but also the positions and degrees at which you hold the tip- for ateco to teach you this for EVERY tip would have required quite a hefty pamphlet. I also saw a negative review about one rusting after soaking overnight. Not as big of a deal as t seems. Some of my wilton tips did this also. I learned that, contrary to what buttercream will lead you to believe, it is actually possible to get these clean relatively fast. All you have to do is soak them in a bowl of warm soapy water(I use seventh generation and it works great) for 15-20 minutes, rinse them(hot then cold), and if they are especially greasy, soak them one more time and clean them with a baby bottle nipple brush. After I started doing this, I haven't had a rusty tip since(wilton or ateco)

As an amateur baker, I was looking for a set of piping tips that would allow me to easily decorate cakes while being able to learn new techniques over time. The assortment of tips in this kit is insane! You can easily make any type of border, star, or flower that you could ever dream of. As mentioned before, it would be nice if there was a better guide for what each tip does, but that's what the internet and experimentation is for. The tips are solid metal and are of good quality- they won't bend or warp. The coupler works well in Wilton featherweight bags (I used mine in the 12 inch), while the individual tips also work well (I used the 8 inch bag). It's also convenient that they come in a case where each piece has a place. It's definitely a purchase I am glad that I made.
