Worked on my 2002 Grand Cherokee WJ 4.0 l6
Car was stalling, and intermittently not starting. It threw code P0320, and the crank sensor is the #1 cause from what I read.It was a pain to install, but not as bad as I had been led to believe. It's been 2 or 3 weeks, not a single problem yet, and it had been giving me trouble daily before.--------1 year updateShe's still running well.

Quality product
Changing your crankcase sensor in ur WJ is a pain. Easiest way is to support ur trans, and unbolt ur cross member and lower ur trans. I had purchased a cheaper sensor and it started acting up after just 2 weeks. So I purchased this and solved my engine misfire and shutting off why driving. Since the crankcase position sensor is so hard to get to, and needing to lower ur trans to get to. You only want to do this once. So buy this item and you won't have any future problems.

Part is not Mopar and is made in China -
The part is difficult to install and may be faulty or the connection may be different, Bette to go with Mopar OEM and know that it is going to cost a little more but you have piece of mind

100% identical to the one I removed
I drive a 2000 Cherokee Laredo and have the same problem as most with the stalling while driving with no restart, and sometimes took hours being stuck on the roadside before it would start again. This part was completely identical to the one removed and was an easy install since I had previously got the wrong one and had to go through the process twice already. Best tip I found was to tie a string on the plug before u unplug and pull through then tie it to the new plug so its easier to feed it back through to plug it in. Total game changer! And a lot less stressful. So far so good and if that changes I will update my review but I have a feeling its gonna stay that way.

Fits 2004 Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee, Special Edition, 2wd, 4.0L
OEM fit for 2004 Jeep WJ Grand Cherokee, Special Edition, 2wd, 4.0L. I found it easiest to replace this from under vehicle by placing a floor jack under engine brace cross-member, then removing cross-member bolts and lowering engine a few inches until I had enough clearance to reach up and remove the bolt and sensor. Make sure to route the new sensor cable properly to the passenger side or it will be too short. Again, I found it easiest to route cable from underside of vehicle. No issues so far in first 1500 miles.
