There are minor differences, like the treble sounding SLIGHTLY recessed, that I don't really care about since I mainly bought these to replace my worn out earpads (and so that I could use my computer without an EQ enabled). The one main thing is that these sit a little closer to your ears than the original Philips pads. But if that doesn't bother you, and your earpads are wearing out, give them a go. They're still going to sound plenty bright if that's what you liked about your shp's. I like them better than the original fabric pads. Once I figured out the secret for popping off the old pads, then it was a simple literal snap to put on the new pads. I used the flat tip of a butter knife to pry off the old pads.
