These replaced almost all of my old lathe tools. Sharp, controllable and very solid and set was a fraction of the cost of one traditional english or german made tools. I have turned about 20 bowls and all are still very sharp. Carbide tips can be turned or replaced. No sharpening ever needed. Game changer.

I use it for woodturning, the only problem is getting replacement inserts and screws.

I tried wood turning in high school 50 years ago and decided that it would be something I’d try again now. Bought a small bench top lathe and a very inexpensive set of HSS turning tools. I did okay with them but there is a learning curve attached to each of those tools as far as tool rest height and angle of the tool meeting the piece. Ordered this four tool set of carbide tools the same day I brought the lathe home. When this set came in I couldn’t wait to get them to the lathe and try them. I had watched a lot of YouTube videos about carbide tools and I followed the advice to have the tool rest back more than normal with the other tooling and the tool set at the center line and parallel to the floor. That’s exactly how they work best and I turned the mallet in no time while trying all four tools. Highly recommend this set for beginners. The only real downside to this set was the box they arrived in had been handled pretty rough. The outside packing box had no damage but the box that contained the tools was very cracked up, tools were not damaged at all. I contacted the seller and they responded very quickly and are ready to give me a special deal on any future purchase. Great company support and great tools!
