Yakpads - Cushioned Seat Pad, Gel Seat Pad for Canoes with Water Bottle/Thermos Holder, Portable Seat Cushion for Outdoor Watersports and Recreation

Seat worked well on a 9 day canoe trek in Ontario's Quetico wilderness. I left it fastened to the seat while portaging through some pretty rough trails. It's not a lot of cushion, so I'm not sure how much worse off I would have been without it since our rental canoe had webbed seats, but it would definitely improve an aluminum or plastic seat. The buckles held it on very well, and it did not slip around during use. It did not soak up a lot of water, either.Like others have said, however, it would have been better to leave off the water bottle holder altogether, or improve it by choosing a different material. It was rough, stiff mesh and hard to get a water bottle into, and it tore along the seams on the second day of use. We had to pack everything out anyway, so I just let it dangle the rest of the trip. Maybe a hard plastic cup-holder, bicycle bottle-cage type of thingy, that is removable by unclipping?

I would give this one star because the product ordered is not what was delivered. It gets two stars because the seat is comfortable and did grip the seat I placed it on, but the strings were not long enough to secure. I also ordered a second one just in case it was a mix up with the selection, but I received the exact same item. I have sent the vendor an email requesting an explanation of the mix up/incorrect item.To recap, picture does not match the product received. It did not have the water bottle holder and I could not secure it to the seat as expected. The seat is comfortable.

It works well and doesn't slide around. I would give it more stars, but after only about 7 uses, stitching began coming out and It needs repair. I use a small "Smart Water" water bottle in the holster and I only weigh 135 lbs. Our practices are typically in calm easy canal waters. Its only been used in ocean water once. There is no reason this thing should be falling apart already. On the positive side, I rinse and hang dry after every practice and it doesn't smell of mildew or funk. The pad itself is fine, it's the webbing that is falling apart.

the cushioned seat works great. Had one in the past but just what a person needs when in an outrigger canoe paddling on the ocean. Comfortable and great for your butt when padding is needed.

The seat is good, but came without the bottle holder. Sent e-mail twice via Amazon, but no response. My friend bought the same seat and the bottle holder is missing as well. Did they run out of the bottle holders or false advertising? I expected a response as the least.

I really like the gel seat pad. I have pyrchased tgem for a number of years.This model is thin an doesnt cushion very well. It needs more robust cushioning. Flattens to zero under the sit bones

I use this in our OC6. It attaches and secures to the seat and is very comfortable. I also really like the water bottle holder - it comes in very handy for those long practices and you don't waste time reaching into the bucket, kicking around your bottle, and having to hand something to seat 1. I purchased several for my teammates!

The description did not match what was purchased. Did use it on a couple of canoe trips and it did pad the seat OK.
