Kuat Transfer V2 - 2" - 3 Bike - Black
E**P
Pricy, good quality, heavy.
PROS: Took me a good 1 hr to assemble in my living room - 1 beer assembly! Instructions were OK but the pictures of the front and right tire cradles were a bit confusing at first and the bolt packages could've been labeled to correspond to the numbers in the instructions. No major complaints other than that and we'll see how it does on a long trip to the beach later this summer. Really fits super secure and sturdy into the 2" trailer hitch with the "proprietary flat lock hitch cam" with the provided tamper resistant 8mm security allen wrench (DONT LOOSE IT)! Seems super sturdy and rugged, does not rattle so NO need for an additional stabilizer clamp. We'll see how it fairs on a long trip to the beach this summer.CONS: At around 40 lbs and because of the security camlock system, my wife and daughter will not likely use it on their own, so it's a Dad rack. It also sets off the backup camera alarm while reversing the car.FYI: I paired the rack with the Rigid Hitch Class 3 Trailer Hitch (R3-0518) Fits 2006-2018 Toyota RAV4 which we had great difficulty getting installed due to wrong bolts.

Well thought of design. Secure Bikes very well
Designed very practical. Locks on wheels to avoid body scraches. Can handle all types of bikes n shapes. 3 BikeTransfer V2 i believe there's an option of adding another slot just incase .... Love the design that you could walk through the middle to better (easier loading and unloading. Versetile desing, can lower the racks even with bikes on to access trunk of my SUV. Just wish (maybe in the future ) they could also think of a way that if i just need one or 2bikes i can remove one or 2 slots.Just wish the price could be a bit lower(probably around just over 300) But as is , Great Buy for me. Highly recomend it .

LOVE this bike rack
We assembled this with not much effort, very well written instructions. If they labeled the bags of screws and the front tire "hooks" were a tad easier to slide over the pucks, we would have given the "easy to assemble" a 5 star rating. The features are awesome for this rack - only "lock" feature that would have been a 5-star is a lock to secure the rack on our hitch. You can find one later at a hardware store that suits your automobile. The locking cable to secure the bikes to the rack is fantastic. We've taken this on one ride, and can't wait to use it this summer! Thanks to Uptown bikes seller - great service and communication.

Excellent
Easy but time consuming to build. Fits our subaru forester 2013 perfectly. Held up 3 bikes without worry on 3+ hour trip

Quality and ease of access!
Easy to assemble. Easy to use. Makes the hatchback door easily accessible even with bikes on the rack. Bikes stay on securely while travel long and easy to get on and off.

Fantastic Rack, You Should Buy It!
TL;DRI love this rack, it’s the best 3 bike rack on the market, and it’s definitely worth the investment. With its build quality, you’ll probably pass it on to your kids. The reason I purchased this rack was to add the 1-bike add on making it possible to carry 4 bikes in a platform carrying position. For that purpose it’s the best cost vs. features rack currently being made.I have owned just about every style of 4-bike hitch mounted rack on the market. Any rack you purchase will hold your bikes securely whether it’s $150 or $1500 (I’m looking at you Kuat NV 2.0 with 2 bike add on). So why in the world should you spend so much more for a rack that does what they all do, carry bikes?1. Kuat’s platform rack loads very quickly with no need to adjust bike seats or handlebars. I can load 4 bikes and have them locked (yes the V2 has a built in lock!!!) in 2 minutes or less. I cannot express enough how important this is. Hanging and other more affordable platform hitch racks can take 20 plus minutes. The rack is the last thing we load so after everything is loaded up and the kids are fired up and ready to go…. Hold on, Dad needs another 20 minutes (at least) to load up the bikes. Uh… no.When we take long road trips, I look for college campuses en route where we can take a bike riding break to get car wiggles out. Kuat unloads and loads quickly. With other racks this is not possible. Seriously, this is a deal breaker for those other racks.2. The bikes have space between each other on the rack. This helps greatly with load/unload efficiency. You don’t have to move around handlebars, seats, racks, or anything else. Pop it on, strap in rear wheel, ratchet arm down (add Velcro front strap if going off road) This also protects bikes frames from unnecessary dings. If bikes are too close to each other and rubbing for 8 hours on a road trip you will shred the frames. And now the cons:1. Weight. With the four bike configuration it is heavy (empty) and I mean like 50+ lbs (23 kg) heavy. This might be a deal breaker for you depending on whether you struggle with any physical impairments, but once it’s in the hitch, you could leave it there all summer. It has a nice tilt mechanism that works well. Could Kuat make this lighter? Sure, check out the NV, but lighter/strong metals are more expensive.2. You won’t have access to your hatch /tailgate, etc… with bikes loaded. Sure, it has a tilt mechanism, but you’ll need to dead lift 200 lbs (90 kg) at least to do that with no easy lifting points. LOL, you will not be tilting this while loaded. To be fair though, no 4-bike rack has a real-world, usable tilt mechanism while bikes are loaded.3. The rack with 4 bikes is huge and hangs off the back of your vehicle pretty far. Like hilariously far, but the pros outweighs that for me. I pull an RV periodically and it doesn’t hang back that far, LOL.4. It’s expensive. You get what you pay for though so I don’t know what else to say here. This rack (in its 4 bike configuration) cost about as much as buying a decent “bike shop” bike.Final thought:Overall, if you’re riding quality bikes from a bike shop I think you should plan to transport them properly. If you’re riding the cheapest bikes possible from a big box store, you didn’t get this far in my review : ) Get this rack. You will pay a bit more, but you won’t need to return this rack because you wanted to get a $150 rack and save some $$$.A quick note about putting the rack together:I purchased the main 3 bike Transfer V2 from a local shop and they included building it in the price (which was same as Amazon). You should really buy this locally, sorry Amazon. The 1–bike add on took a while to put together and install. I can imagine this rack is a pain to put together and I would allow for 2-3 hours, and 2-3 beers. As your beer intake increases, assume a linear increase (perhaps exponential depending on your tolerance) in build time, but you prob won’t mind at that point!
