The Human Element: Overcoming the Resistance That Awaits New Ideas

Interesting, informative, Easy to read
I bought this thinking it was about Human Factors analysis (think James Reason). It's about the forces hampering the take up of new ideas which is similarly fascinating. Even without a sales background I found this informative and written in an easy style, and can doubtless apply this in real life

The Audible narrators voice is a headache
I listened to the Hidden Brain podcast with Loran and he had a great voice, I was looking forward to listening to the full audiobook. Please get a new or at least alternative narrator 🤞

The audible voice spoils this book
I bought this using audible as I have a subscription. However, I just didn't gel with the narrator. However, because the book has some very interesting points I decided after 1 chapter I'd cough up £13.99 for the kindle which is the most I've spent on a kindle book in ages.So either this is a cunning marketing ploy to get people to buy the physical copy or kindle, or it's the authors decision that fussing about a narrator is too much time spent on details and extra features! Note to authors get a more human narrator for this book with a good tone and enthusiasm to the voice. All audible fans I'm sure will be more agreeable to this.I'm also sure that if it is a marketing ploy, not many are going to spend £13.99 on a kindle. Less readers = less reviews and recommendations.I'll be back and update this review if I find the content worthy enough.Update: Thurs 10.2.22It took quite a while to get going with this book, even on the kindle. However, I've entered some chapters that have proved to be very useful and I can make changes to future and past products to incorporate the new findings and information. There is quite a jump though in the book to start reaping the good stuff. I'm in that now which is 40% of the book read.

Mentally Stimulating and insightful!
This is one of the most insightful books that I have ever read! It packs an intense amount of practical and real world applications into achieving success in so many aspects of life. The stories are relatable and memorable. I have learnt so much about the human element and the psychology of getting results, in business and in my personal life. Thank you both for the gift of your knowledge.

A Fantastic read.
What a great and insightful book. A new twist on some age old lessons and reaffirmation of things I have read in the past.

Incredibly helpful paradigm!
Nordgren and Schonthal do a fantastic job prodding at our typical mindset when attempting to change the minds of others. They show the reader through helpful anecdotes how much more people are generally motivated by avoiding pain/discomfort vs. seeking out pleasure/reward. The natural desire to sell people on our FUEL vs. showing others how we can help them reduce or remove FRICTION in our lives is strong and pervasive. This book is a great first step to re-wiring our default setting to focus on the FRICTION piece first.Highly recommended!

The Interaction between energy and friction
This is an awesome book that uses the analogy of the interaction between energy and friction. It looks at the framework of human behavior in terms of change, new ideas, and decision making from a fresh new perspective. The concepts presented in the book have high applicability to my coaching/mentoring practice that is focused on stress, anxiety and performance. Highly recommend that you follow the author on LinkedIn!! Great book!!

Great book
Heard about this on NPR’s hidden brain. Easy to read. Examples make the concepts easy to understand.
