Absolutely love it!!
This is such a fun and interactive book about visiting the city. While my son is too young to fully appreciate this book, he loves to flip through the pages and I also enjoy reading it to him. If you're a fan of visiting the city, you'll love this book. It talks about what to do in the city for entertainment, traveling within the city, what to eat and where, etc. It's just such a great book and not visually overwhelming at all.UPDATE (2022):I purchased this book several years ago when my son was quite small. I now have two kids, 6 and under, and have read this book to them so many times that I've had to tape it back together in several places. It is still one of our family favorites; one of the reasons we all love it so much is that it's relatable to any major city nearest to you. It has a little of something for everyone. The pictures are well done and I love asking my kids to find the black cat on the pages. They also love that feature too. I will also reiterate the fact that I love the diversity in this book; different races, disabled people, and a diverse age range of people. We love this book so much that we have bought it for many of our friends with young kids over the years. Definitely a must-have book!

Lots for Little Ones to See & Explore
Our little one loves reading this book (especially right before bed - stalling tactic, anyone?). She loves to point out all the objects/characters and talk through what they're doing. She also listens attentively to us as we explain different aspects of the scenery or interactions the characters have with one another or the world around them. Fun little easter eggs to discover if you also have the Farm Block book - the grandfather and grandchildren exploring the big city, also featuring prominently in that book. And just like the Farm Block book has secondary little mouse who follows you from page to page and scene to scene, the city block has a friendly black cat you'll encounter frequently. My daughter loves hunting for them both. :)

Fun way to learn about the city!
If your child lives in the country or small town, then this is a great book to learn all about the city! As a teacher, I am highly aware of how children understand more as they relate book concepts to life experiences. Children who have never been to a city will appreciate this sturdy, colorful, interesting book. My three year old grandson loves it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great book!
My daughter is 20 months and absolutely loves this book! Great learning tool and there is a black cat on every page which is fun for the baby to find. Kind of like a where's Waldo.

City Stuff is Fun
These block books are a lot of fun. And City Block is another great one in the series. It highlights fun city stuff and is well designed and colorful. Really glad I keep buying these.

Great book, poor binding
I have three of these books and the binding is weak. My son absolutely loves them - trying to find the animal on each page.

Cute book about things to see and eat in the city
My almost two year old loves the "block" series. We own all of them and this is one of his favorites. While the author never mentions the name of the city it appears to be NYC. The book essentially has three parts; how to get around the city, the different things you can do in the city and finally where you can eat in the city. The illustrations are really cute and the book is interactive in that there is a flap that the child can open up to complete the scene.
