Is the free watch band offer legit in the package? Or a con?

Yes, it is legit. I have received two free bands from them in the past year (purchased two sets of screen protectors) after filling out the online form and submitting proofs of product review.

How do I remove the protector

You just peel it off. Stays in pretty well but occasionally I will scrape my watch and tear the protector. Have protected my watch screen very well.
