Died it need a separate 13v power source?** A: It will need a USB power socket. ie 5v. Do not use a 12v supply to the DVD. **Q: Has anybody converted mp4 to something that will play on this dvd player?** A: Convert mp4 to mpg for proper playback. Be aware that to get any kind of volume you will need to plug in the red and white cables as well as the HDMI, but you'll still need to turn the volume way up. Also the unit is likely to be completely unresponsive to controls, either the buttons on the unit itself or the controls on the remote, when first powered up: simply unplug it and power it up again and it should work properly. The one disadvantage I have noticed in use is that there's no way to tell how far along your programme is - no time counter, no progress bar etc., even on pause. However overall it works and seems reliable so far, is well priced and doesn't take up much space.
