Extra Large Coffee Filters 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 Cup Basket for Commercial, Domestic Coffee Maker Extra High Extra Wide, Anti ground, Flattened Diameter 9.75" (200)

We've had a Cuisinart 12 cup grind and brew coffee maker for roughly 20 years now. Sometime in the past 2-3 years, something has changed with standard coffee filters. They've become shorter on the sides and this allows grounds to overflow and enter the carafe if you are brewing 10 or more cups and sometimes as little as 8 cups. So began my search for a suitable replacement for store bought or standard filters as I got tired of pouring my coffee through a strainer to catch grounds. A residential coffee maker typically has a 3.25 inch bottom and ideally the sides would be 2 3/4". Alas, most of the standard filters have only 2 1/4" sides allowing the overflow. The Stay Smart Way filters are for a commercial coffee maker and have 4.5 inch bottoms and the sides are 2 3/4" high. This leads to a slight challenge as the bottom is larger than a home coffee maker. The good news is they work and work well to prevent ground overflow. The bad news is they don't just drop in, they do require you to press them down and make sure you keep the top relatively even as it get seated. There will be some folds on the sides but the top fits on the basket and everything works perfectly. The extra 30 seconds of fitment are more than worth it to me to avoid the ground overflow. I believe someone mentioned the flatten out over time during storage. If you cut or tear a hole in the top to allow removing a filter, leaving the rest in the packaging will ensure they retain their shape. The filter is a good thickness to prevent tears yet allows coffee to pass through with no issues. I highly recommend these. If a filter manufacturer happens to ready this, increasing the side height on a standard filter to be 2 3/4" would immediately separate you from the crowded field and lead to more sales. It's hard to believe how much time went into researching coffee filters, but these were in fact the correct choice. Refer to other reviews regarding size. We were able (so far) to increase our number of tablespoons of grounds to 14. Some silt but not much (more than the bleached Safeway store ones which had none). We're not finicky about that, it's more important to reduce our chemical exposure and are very happy with this product. There was one review that said they were thin but that has not been our experience. I take the wet used grounds in the filter and walk them out and dump the whole thing on the lawn to add nitrogen. I can go back a couple days later to pick up the filter (it's less messy when dry) and walk it to the yard-waste bin and the used filter is still thick and quite intact. I would have preferred multiple packages with smaller amounts totaling the 200 I got, but they layered the 200 one on top of the other so it's bulky to store them and they are in a weird shape. The plastic container tears easily so you'll need a gallon-size to seal them into to store. They're taller than the 12 cup Mr. Coffee I was handed down and if I'm supposed to get 12 cups brewed in that machine it can't be at a ratio of 2Tbs: 6 oz water so I don't know what's up with that. But these helped get another cup (14 Tbsp: 42 oz water) and might work for a bit more but on a course ground coffee it's already pretty high up/ filled once the water hits it. They take a moment to press against the sides (dry) but hold their shape well. Yes, try them. Yes, they are oversized. No, they won't tear.

This product was used to filter coffee in one of those really big coffee urns. It makes cleanup of the plastic basket that holds the ground coffee and the urn itself a much easier task. The filters don't have a hole in the center so you have to make one with a knife. When spread flat, the filter completely covers the bottom of the plastic basket inside the urn. The unit that was used has a 9 inch wide basket and the filter, when spread flat actually reaches the sides of the basket but does not come up the sides. However, it is still better than not having a filter in there. There were no other options that I could find that would perform the function I had intended. This method of filtration was helpful because if one used a very finely ground coffee, much in the way of grinds gets through the little holes in the basket and into the coffee itself and what's left over at the bottom of the urn makes for a tougher cleanup. Good product.

I love these for straining my home made yogurt. One of these fits perfectly in my large sieve. I put it over a bowl, fill it with yogurt made in the instant pot. Then it sits in the fridge for a few hours, draining the whey and becomes Greek yogurt. Being plant based, I make my own soy yogurt because I've never found a store bought brand that tastes very good and didn't charge an arm and a leg. So for around $2.00 I can make a quart of yogurt using Trader Joe's Organic Soy Milk. So quick and easy! Plus I can adjust the tanginess to my taste. Then I use the drained whey to start another batch.

These seemed to be great quality, but they were more for a commercial coffeemaker than my smaller at-home one. I had to return them for a smaller size. These have 4.5 inch bottoms, which I think might be in the comments but maybe not the description.

I had to write a review. I usually don't have time to write them, but I spend too much time reading them. I didn't buy these for months because of some of the negative reviews and would have purchased the higher count option if I wasn't worried because of some of the negative reviews. First, these are big and probably technically too big for a standard coffee maker. They say extra-large. Duh. I wish they were a tad smaller but if careful, they work as I expected them to which is much better than the standard ones. I actually spent a long time reading reviews of coffee makers (planning to replace a brand new one) because if I make 12cups, it overflows the filter and I have grounds in the coffee. I don’t understand why they can’t make filters to fit (and go to the top of) the basket. I don’t know if it is a coffee maker problem or a filter problem, but these filters have fixed my problem. No more babysitting my coffee maker. I wet these filters and scrunch down the sides to prevent it from folding over on itself and causing grounds to overflow the filter. I do it wet since I can easily remove the basket, put the filter in the basket dry and then wet it a bit but these could also be scrunched down or maybe folded over the basket dry to prevent it from folding in on itself. Spending a few seconds extra to get it in the basket the right way does not take nearly the time I spent babysitting the coffee, turning the pot off and on over and over to get 12 cups with no grounds in it. One review said these are low quality, thin and waxy. They are coffee filters and meant to be thin. I did not find them “waxy” at all and they stood up to me scrunching them down wet to get them tucked into the filter basket, and I also dry them out and reuse in the bottom of my compost bin to make it easier to empty. No holes or ripping. Certainly, sturdy enough to function as a coffee filter. Other reviews said they had a soapy or chemical smell. They had no odor that I found. They smelled like any other filters I have purchased and did not change the taste of the coffee. They also were completely factory sealed; not sure what DIY shrink-wrapped is supposed to look like but these were packaged just fine. The only negative, is the cost. They are certainly more expensive than the standard ones. They are bigger, they will be more. So worth it to no longer have to babysit the coffee pot! The next time I’m ordering 500!

A little more expensive than buying regular sized coffee filters at the grocery store, but I could never find any TALL enough to contain the grounds and keep them from coming out into the coffee carafe. I always had grounds in the bottom of the carafe. I finally got tired of it, and searched for a taller filter on Amazon and came across these. They are pretty big, but they still fit just fine down in the filter holder. I believe they are more for commercial sized coffee pots, but they fit my 10 cup Hamilton Beach and my 12 cup Kuerig. They are tall enough to contain the grounds as they are being brewed. Nothing has overflowed into my carafe and I have been using them for 3-4 weeks. I will now NOT go back to the regular size filter that SAY they are for 8-12 cup coffee makers, but allow the grounds to overflow, those are just too short. In the photos, you can see the difference in how the grounds are more contained and are well below the top of the filter as they should be.

Filters was too large for my Coffee machine

These are great coffee filters and I’ll definitely buy them again. They really mean it when they say extra large — they are quite big for the 12-cup filter area in my Breville Grind Control — but I found an easy workaround. I just crunch the filter slightly in the middle, which draws the sides down, and then it fits and works perfectly. I’ve had no issues with them at all. In fact, I haven’t had the usual paper-filter problem where one side folds over and coffee grounds end up everywhere. They hold their shape well once adjusted, and they do the job nicely. Great natural, unbleached, biodegradable filters.

Used these filters for our Percolator for a family reunion and it was big enough so no grinds got through, I was pleased and recommend for large machines, sorry didn’t get a picture of the filter I was a little busy but this is the machine we used it in and laid the filter flat out

These filters are a perfect fit for my BUNN coffee maker. I like that they’re unbleached and non-toxic—it’s reassuring to know I’m brewing coffee without added chemicals.

Work great, and no bleach for the win.

These filters work great in 8-12 cup coffee makers. They are great for ensuring that coffee grinds don’t pass through to the pot.
