Lenovo e531 - getting 'the battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge. please replace the battery...' any way around this?

I'm using the 3rd party battery bought on amazon for an e530 and an e535 with success. I got the message detailed in your question on a e335. I bought a slightly used battery on ebay that was officially LENOVO and that worked. The e335 is an odd model so there wasn't a new cheap 3rd party battery available or I might have tried one. To get around the message you need to find a battery that your BIOS likes or... From what I can gather it would take a 'patch' to the BIOS to fix it. If it was an UPDATE to the BIOS I might have done it but the patch process is a little complicated. You'll have to do a search for that info and you would have to decide if you wanted to trust that information.
