Great if you have a Logitech Astro. If you dont, and you're buying this, be careful.
IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS CABLE AS A REPLACEMENT CABLE FOR YOUR HEADSET THAT IS NOT A LOGITECH ASTRO, READ THE FOLLOWING REVIEW (IF NOT SCROLL DOWN TO SECONDARY REVIEW): This is a very strange review and definitely helped me learn about 3.5 mm headphone cables in the process. The cable is advertised as a replacement for the ASTRO gaming headsets. I currently use an NZXT Relay headset with attached microphone for my PC. When the cable that came with my headset crimped beyond use, I looked for replacements and found this one. I learned about the black bands on the 3.5mm jack itself and what they do. I looked at my old cable and saw that there were 4 black bands (or poles as they are actually called) on the end of one connector and 3 on the other end. What i was able to learn is that if you see 4 black bands on the end of your cable, that actually means it is a 5 pole connector. When i bought this, i was 1 pole short on either end which led to a bit of weird connectivity issues. The end that plugs into my headset also did not quite seat all the way into the connector. This cable gets 5 stars because it was my fault the cable didnt work and also the cable is thick, nice quality, and would work as advertised if you were smarter than me. SECONDARY REVIEW: If you have a Logitech ASTRO this replacement cable is exactly what you are looking for. It has in-line volume control and a nice, thick cord. The volume control is easy to use and doesnt turn itself down when it brushes your shirt. Great replacement for the price.

Great replacement cable
Great little replacement cable. Has much better audio quality than most braided cables. Sturdy design and doesn't break the first time it comes out of the socket. Cords are always a pain, but this cord has always done right by me. I've gone through maybe 3 of them. Over time and ripping them out consistently it'll cause wear and tear, but they hold up well. I've had my pair of TR40's for a long time, and even got my son a pair. They work great, and each time replacement cords are needed, this is the one I buy. Audio quality is top notch, the cord is built to last but keep in mind if you're trying to break it, you will.

Wires is weak at spring ends.
I bought this cable in April of 2026. I bought it for the springs which suggested durability and end points. I was very wrong. I started experiencing issues with breaking up in June. Now by August 1st it's almost useless. The end where the spring is, is where the voice connection starts to break up. The exact place it was supposed to be stronger. Waste of money. I do not recommend this product.

Works great
This is the second time I’ve bought this cord. Only because my kids are rough on things and pull the cord out of the Xbox controller by the cord itself and not the plug part. This last time they actually broke off the metal post that goes into the controller. All that to say these cords work great and they’re not too expensive either. Highly recommend

Broke turning my head (they replaced it and it is a good cable)
I was wearing headphones with this cord, went to turn my head while the wire is tangled in my chair and the force to turn my head was enough to cause it to fail at the volume switch. I got a replacement and it’s great!

Astro A40 Replacement Cable
short sweet to the point GOOD- durable, works the same as original, sounds the same as original, braided cable, pretty decent length, metal ends to grab instead of pulling cable BAD- stupid lookin mute thing

Lasted less than 30 days before trouble
This cord worked great for about a month and now every time you move it's causing static over the headphones I'm using making it impossible to listen to anything without having some static every few sec. this cord is trash and should not be sold at all. everything else I have had with my Astro headsets has been great but the audio cable has left things. I will exchange it for a standard Astro cord.

Works great, great deal
I’ve had to replace this cord 4 or 5 times - my cats like to chew them up as punishment for me leaving overnight. Every order has worked great

Don't waste your time
Seems like its a great quality with being braided and having metal tips. The cord is more durable but its just like the rest of them and broke on me in 2 weeks of having it. The Jack that plugs into the headset its self lost connection inside the wire tubing and I took precautions for this not to happen... oh and the mute button never worked
